Not every cat shows their true personality in a shelter. Some kitties are overwhelmed by all the unfamiliar sounds, smells, and changes around them, so they hide, keep to themselves, or take a little longer to trust.

But once they feel safe in a home? Everything changes. ❤️

The shy cat hiding in the corner today may become the cat who follows you from room to room, curls up beside you at night, and loves you with their whole heart. Some of the most rewarding adoptions come from giving a timid cat the patience and understanding they need to blossom.

Some stories are just meant to be. ❤️

Sweet senior girl Mesh Mesh lost the person who loved her beyond measure when her owner sadly passed away. Like so many cats, her whole world changed overnight.

But yesterday, Mesh Mesh got her happy ending. 🐾 She was adopted by two very special people — our own Liz and Daniel!

We could not imagine a more loving home for this deserving girl. After all the loss and uncertainty, Mesh Mesh will now spend her days surrounded by love, comfort, and people who already adore her.

Happy Happie* Tail, sweet Mesh Mesh. Your mom would be so happy knowing you are safe, cherished, and loved once again. ❤️

Emergency help needed for little Westy! 💔

This sweet baby, rescued by John Debacker after being found crying in a backyard, is now heading to the Animal Surgical Centerfor surgery to repair his badly broken leg. We are hopeful the surgeons will be able to save his leg, but no matter what, we trust he is in the very best hands and that they will do what is best for this tiny boy.

Westy has already been through so much, but thanks to supporters like you, he has pain management, a safe place to heal, and a team fighting for him every step of the way.

Yesterday little siblings Tater Tot and French Fry packed their bags and headed off to their forever home together! These adorable kittens are officially living the good life with a family of their very own.

Nothing makes us happier than seeing bonded siblings stay together — and these two are going to have a lifetime of wrestling matches, zoomies, naps, and love ahead of them.

Little Westy’s journey to safety started with a cry for help. 💔

On his way to our booth at the Gold Coast Book Fair, rescuer John Debacker responded to an emergency call regarding a tiny kitten crying in a backyard in West Islip. Of course, John couldn’t just walk away. He scooped up the little guy and brought him straight to us at the event.

We gave Westy a quick veterinary check and immediately noticed a wound and swelling on his left forelimb. He wasn’t putting any weight on it, so off he went to the emergency hospital for X-rays.

Poor baby has a broken leg. 😢 Thankfully, thanks to John’s quick action, Westy now has pain medication, antibiotics, and a safe place to heal while we wait for an orthopedic evaluation to determine whether splinting and cage rest will be enough for recovery.

Only John DeBacker could rescue TWO cats in one day… one of them just happened to be made of cardboard. 😹

On his way to the Gold Coast Book Fair, John Debacker stopped to rescue a tiny kitten (stay tuned tomorrow for little Westy’s story ❤️). But the rescuing didn’t stop there!

While at the fair, a giant gust of wind tried to whisk away our bigger-than-life-sized cat stand-up display — but John sprang into action once again and saved the day before our “cat” became an outdoor stray.

Whether it’s kittens or cardboard cats, no feline is left behind on John’s watch! 🐾
