Women on the Water Makes the Cover!

What a wonderful way to see The WaterFront Center and our Women on the Water community featured in Newsday!

Newsday’s cover story, “A Sailing Sisterhood,” celebrates the growing community of women finding their confidence, building their skills and getting behind the helm across Long Island — and we’re incredibly proud that The WaterFront Center is part of that story.

A huge congratulations to Maggie Mills, whose sailing experience at WFC landed her on the cover! We were also thrilled to see our sailors, instructors and program represented throughout the feature, including Jeanne Beyer, along with insight from our Sailing Director, Jonathan Zaskorski.

Women on the Water is about more than sailing. It’s about creating a welcoming community where women can continue developing their skills, spend time on Oyster Bay Harbor and simply enjoy sailing together.

A very special thank you to Bill Bleyer for telling this story and for his continued support of sailing, Long Island’s maritime heritage and the environment. Thank you as well to Newsday for shining a spotlight on the women who are helping grow our sailing community.

And to all of our Women on the Water sailors and instructors — this recognition belongs to you, too.
