Happy (belated) National Food Bank Day! We are truly grateful for all you do for us, Worcester County Food Bank. Thank you!

On National Food Bank Day, we’re grateful to the many hands and hearts helping our neighbors thrive.

Pictured: Our hard-working warehouse operations team. On a typical day, our warehouse operations crew moves thousands of pounds of food — pallets of fresh produce, canned goods, pasta, eggs, cheese, frozen meats, and so much more — to our Partner Agencies who make sure it gets to our neighbors across the county. The work is physical, fast-paced work that requires teamwork, precision, and a whole lot of heart.

Live in Oxford and need help with food this week? We are here for you!

The Oxford Ecumenical Food Shelf is Oxford's food pantry. We've been serving the community for more than 50 years.

We are a client-choice food pantry, meaning you choose the foods you need, including fresh vegetables and fruit, meats, fish, eggs and dairy, and non-perishable items such as cereals, pastas and canned goods.

Plus we have vegetables and herbs fresh picked from the Community Share Garden at the First Congregational Church of Oxford, MA.

And our volunteers are the best! They're kind, helpful and discreet. We will always greet you with a smile.

The Oxford Food Shelf is located on the lower level of the Oxford Community Center on 4 Maple Road in Oxford, Massachusetts.

We are open on Thursdays at 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm, except holidays.

This week we visited N&J Donuts to thank them all they do for our community. They provide us with a tray of freshly-made donuts every Thursday morning so that our families can select a few sweet treats along with their groceries. All are so grateful for your kindness. Owner Irene was on vacation, so Emily and Gianna accepted our gratitude plaque on her behalf from Dave Murray of the Oxford Ecumenical Council.

The Council, our volunteers and the families who use the Oxford Food Shelf's services appreciate our neighbors. As a small token, we’re visiting local businesses who have supported us over the years to present them with a gratitude plaque.

The Oxford Ecumenical Council, our volunteers and the families who use the Oxford Food Shelf's services appreciate the kindness and generosity of our community! As a small token, we’re visiting local businesses who have supported us over the years to present them with a gratitude plaque. P and D Pizza has supported us in many ways over the years including through our annual Volunteer Appreciation event and CROP Hunger Walk - with plenty of pizza to make people happy. We are grateful for the pizza and all you do for the community. Thank you! Pictured are P&D Owner Ted Efstathiou and Dave Murray of the Oxford Ecumenical Council.

We are truly blessed! This was our produce table this evening. Thank you, Worcester County Food Bank, First Congregational Church of Oxford, MA (for their Share Garden donation) and Jeff and his wife who stopped by with cabbage and kale from their garden! Our families were thrilled with the bounty and the choice.

We needed a new refrigerator and one of our member churches came through for us! Good Shepherd Oxford presented the Oxford Food Shelf with a Diocese mission grant of $4000 to buy a new fridge. We are grateful to Rev. John Marquis, a supply minister with the church for the past several months, who heard about our need and applied for the grant. He is pictured here with members of the Oxford Ecumenical Council: Mary Walker and Carol Uppgard. You see Mary and Carol most weeks volunteering at our food pantry. Carol comes in weekly to help our families with any sewing they may need - mends, buttons, hems, etc. Mary is Co-Chair of the Council. Both are parishioners of Good Shepherd. The Oxford Ecumenical Council, which manages the Food Shelf, is made up of representatives of seven churches in town. Thank you all!

Carl's Oxford Diner's donation from their annual holiday raffle keeps our shelves stocked in the winter months. They make a real difference!
