As One Chapter Closes, Another Begins
As Captain Dennis Fitzgibbons closed out his career with Oxford Fire-EMS, one of his final assignments was a fitting one: presenting Firefighter Bertrand with his permanent shield.
FF Bertrand has successfully completed his probationary period, marking an important milestone in his career with Oxford Fire-EMS. We congratulate him on this accomplishment and look forward to watching him continue to grow and serve our community.

Also pictured with FF Bertrand is his fiancée, Allison Sheldon of the Charlton Fire Department.

TODAY IS THE DAY!

After 20 years of dedicated service, Captain Dennis Fitzgibbons will make his final walk-out from Oxford Fire-EMS Headquarters today at approximately 1200 hours as he begins his well-earned retirement.

Friends, family, coworkers, retirees, and members of the community are invited to join us in celebrating Fitz and his incredible career.

People will begin gathering around 1000 hours

Come down, shake his hand, share a story, and help us give Captain Fitzgibbons the send-off he deserves.

Tonight, members of Oxford Firefighters IAFF Local 4634, along with Chief Sellers, had the honor of celebrating the remarkable career and retirement of Oxford Police Officer Craig Gagner.

Officer Gagner retires after a lifetime dedicated to serving his country and the communities he has called home. Throughout his career, Craig has worn many uniforms and answered many calls to serve, including as a United States Army veteran, Police Officer, Firefighter, Paramedic, and Fire Chief in Georgia.

Few people can say they have devoted so much of their life to helping and protecting others.

Congratulations, Craig, on an incredible career and a well-earned retirement. Thank you for your friendship, your service, and your commitment to others.

Oxford Firefighters IAFF Local 4634 would like to congratulate Captain Fitzgibbons, Lieutenant Coulombe, Firefighter O’Neill, Firefighter Farrell, and Firefighter Harmon, who were awarded the Oxford Fire-EMS Meritorious Action Medal – Heroic Action, First Class.

The medal was presented in recognition of their actions at a fire on Thayer Pond Drive, where the crew was faced with both an active fire and a report of a person still inside the building. The crew split their efforts, simultaneously working to extinguish the fire while searching for and ultimately rescuing the occupant from the building.

Their actions, teamwork, and commitment to protecting the lives of others represent the very best of Oxford Fire-EMS.

Congratulations to all five members on this well-deserved recognition. We are proud to call you our brothers.

In less than two weeks, the Massachusetts fire service has lost three active-duty firefighters.

The members of Oxford Firefighters Local 4634 would like to extend our deepest condolences to our brothers and sisters of the Quincy Fire Department, Taunton Fire Department, and Marshfield Fire Department, as well as to the families and friends of those we have lost.

Oxford Firefighters Local 4636 would like to extend our deepest condolences to our brothers and sisters of the Boston Fire Department, Local 718, and the family of Firefighter Robert “Bobby” Kilduff Jr. who gave his life battling a 3-Alarm fire last night in Dorchester.

Please keep his family and fellow firefighters in your thoughts during this challenging time.
