Here is the list of 46 books that have been challenged in the last 6 months at DCPL. Clearly not all 186 books are listed that have been removed. Total lack of transparency about what books have been removed. This is censorship.

Library Board Meeting June 17, 2026

182 books have now been removed from the children and young adult section of Daviess County Public Library since January.

Don’t think local elections matter? We need to replace the current Judge Exec and East Daviess County Commissioner with anti-censorship candidates who will place reasonable people on the library board. And without your vote in November the censorship continues.

LIL' MISS & MISTER JUNETEENTH CONTESTS: Jars will be set out for the public to vote for their favorite beautiful baby (or babies!) and all proceeds will go to OBE's scholarship fund to support our older babies' endeavors after high school.

VENDORS & EXHIBITORS: Over 40 businesses and organizations registered to be part of this year's Juneteenth. There will be food to keep you going, mementos for you to hold onto (or burn through), and organizations for you to connect with for support or for the opportunity to get more involved.

“It’s basic biology” is often a phrase used to end a conversation, not start one.

The reality is that biology is anything but simple.

The more scientists learn about genetics, hormones, brain development, and human diversity, the more we discover that nature doesn’t always fit neatly into the categories we learned as children.

Acknowledging complexity isn’t rejecting science — it’s following the evidence wherever it leads.

ALSO ... You don’t have to understand every aspect of s*x and gender to treat people with dignity and respect.

But if we’re going to talk about biology, we should be willing to engage with what biology actually says, not just what we learned in middle school.

💜 Learning is not a weakness.
💜 Curiosity is not a threat.
💜 And treating people with kindness costs nothing.
