Coalition for An Inclusive Daviess County A coalition of concerned citizens and community groups

Owensboro is home to a large and vibrant LGBTQIA+ community, and for too long many of us have felt the need to stay quiet or remain in the shadows. That time is over.
As part of the broader Pride movement, Owensboro Blue Bridge Pride is encouraging our community to come together , arm in arm, in peace and solidarity....to make it clear that this is our city too. We are not going anywhere.
Let our collective voice be heard... be loud, be proud, and stand in unity for visibility, dignity, and equality. At the same time, we call for an end to violence and harm in all our communities across the United States.
Let’s be part of something greater than ourselves , rooted in love, courage, and peace. Stay safe, family !

A HUGE thank you to Glenn Ashby and the Coalition for an Inclusive Daviess County for sponsoring the children’s bounce house at this year’s Annual Pride Picnic! 🌈🎉
We also want to remind everyone that Owensboro Blue Bridge Pride’s Annual Pride Picnic on May 31st from 12:00 PM–8:00 PM is a FAMILY-FRIENDLY celebration of love, community, inclusion, and Pride for ALL ages! ❤️
Bring the kids, bring your friends, bring your chosen family, and come celebrate with us as we continue building a stronger, more inclusive community together. Be loud, be proud, and we’ll see you at the picnic!!! 🏳️‍🌈✨

In a time when many companies are quietly backing away from LGBTQ+ visibility and inclusion, some businesses are still choosing to publicly stand for dignity, safety, and equality.

That's why we wrote a new Substack article called:

“Companies Still Choosing Inclusion”

It explores why visible support still matters — especially for transgender people — and includes a growing list of companies that have publicly supported LGBTQ+ inclusion through workplace protections, healthcare access, advocacy, employee support programs, and public engagement.

This is not about claiming companies are perfect.

It’s about recognizing that inclusion has real-world impact:

• helping LGBTQ+ employees feel safer
• normalizing dignity and belonging
• encouraging other businesses to do better
• reminding LGBTQ+ people they are not alone

The article also talks about the difference between performative allyship and meaningful support and why many LGBTQ+ people notice who continues showing up when things become difficult.

We hope this becomes a helpful resource for LGBTQ+ people, parents, allies, and anyone who wants to support businesses working toward inclusion.

PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT!
BEWARE of scam phone calls from the Sheriff’s Dept. saying you did not show for jury duty and there is a warrant out and you must come to the sheriff’s department or pay an up front fine. Hang up and warn friends and family. These calls are happening all across our community and the calls sound very legit. They sometimes use actual sheriff deputy names and could actually disguise the call like it’s coming from the sheriff department. Some people have actually sent the scammers money.
Do not fall for it
