Good Monday morning to you!

We are still working on finding a place for our business meetings. Until then, our May Quilting Event will be at Reid’s Orchard at their Events building on Thursday, May 21 at 9:30. Get there a little earlier to set up your space. You may need to bring extension cords, too.

*****This is a workshop on how to be scrappy. If you want a patriotic quilt, please bring at least “18” of different blues and scraps of red, and white fabrics. It’s fun to swap fabrics with each other, too! Do Not Cut Any Fabric, please! It will be a fun quilt to make, and you will love the class. If you don’t want patriotic, you can choose many different 18” fabrics for your triangles and strips. *****

Bring a sack lunch and a drink with a screw on lid, your cutting mat, ruler, rotary cutter, and your stash to cut strips and squares. If you want it to be red, white, and blue it would be best to use blues for the triangles and strips of red and white for the other half.

If you have questions, please ask them in the comments, or you can call Guinn Trogden.

We look forward to seeing you.

Workshops are for members only, however, if you would like to participate it will be $25. Please leave a comment on this post if you would like to come. It’s up to the teacher depending on space and how many people she can teach.

Thank you to Reid’s Orchard for offering this space to us.

Dear Followers of the OAQG page,

We will not be having our business meeting on May 7th.

Crosspointe Baptist Church decided to update their contract with us, and we, as a board, decided that it was not in our best interest.

We have called several places, but they haven't gotten back to us.

Our May 21 Quilting Event will be at Reids Orchard in their event building. Our newsletter person, Samantha, will be sending you the fabric requirements, and the cutting instructions. We

We were looking forward to seeing you, as always, but, we felt that this was in your best interest.

Change is hard, but change is good. I know that God has plans for us. We are creative, and we love to teach others the love of quilting as we have the past 42 years.

Thank you to Crosspointe Baptist Church for being our meeting place for the past 20+ years.

Your Quilting Friend,

Amanda Harvey, President

April 2 is around the corner, and I’m sure you know what that means…it’s Guild Week!!

All of us get excited about Guild Week because we get to see each other, and inspire each other.

We meet Thursday, April 2 at Crosspointe Baptist Church, 550 Worthington Rd, Owensboro, KY. 42301. The meeting starts at 9:30. We would love to see you there.

You are welcome to come and visit, and, if you decide you would like to join, it’s $25.

We will be talking about our next quilting event on May 21st. We will be making a red, white, and blue (or any color combination you would like) to celebrate USA’s 250th birthday.

If you are not a member, but would like to make this quilt, the cost of the class is $25.

We will also be talking about our upcoming quilt show at Preservation Station September 11-12. We are excited to share our love of quilting with you. The time of the show will be announced, soon.

Members, be sure to wear your name tag. Fat quarter drawing is brights or florals. Be sure to put your name in the box for each fat quarter you bring.

The theme for Show and Tell is Easter and/or Spring. Of course you can bring what you have made even if it isn’t the theme. We love to see your quilts!

We had a great time seeing each other at our March meeting. It was a rainy day, and many of our members stayed home because they were sick.

Our Service Project Chairperson, Trudy Martin, invited Jessica Monroy from Saint Gerrard Maternal Home, and she spoke about her organization and answered questions members had. We were able to donate 26 baby quilts to her that day.

March 19th is our Quilting Event. Terry Russelburg will be teaching us about color, and she will give us information on how to add a sleeve to the back of our quilts.

Since we haven’t seen each other in a while, we decided to have a Spring Social after her presentation. Bring your sewing machines, an unfinished project, and supplies. We will have a catered lunch from Subway. If you are a member, and didn’t sign up for the workshop or lunch, please leave a comment on this post so we can know how many are planning to come to the workshop and eat lunch. Please remember to bring your own drink with a screw on lid.

It was so good to see those that were able to come to the meeting. Quilting friends are the best!

Please enjoy our March Show and Tell.

It’s the first week of March, and that means it’s Quilt Guild week!

I, along with the Executive Board, are extremely excited to see everyone! We haven’t been together since December, really. We had a small group in January (I wasn’t there) due to New Year’s Day being on the first Thursday, and having to move it to the next week. In February there was snow, so we canceled it all together.

We are marching forward, and ready to get this party started!!

Our meeting is Thursday, March 5th at Crosspointe Baptist Church, pp550 Worthington Rd. Owensboro, KY 42301.

The meeting starts at 9:30, but get there a little early to get a good seat and meet people. If you would like to join, the dues are $25.

Since we missed February, the members can bring their green/St. Patricks day fat quarters, and their pastel/Easter fat quarters for the Fat Quarter Drawing.

Members, wear your name tags for the name tag drawing.

The theme for Show and Tell are red/Valentine quilts (since we didn’t get to see them), and bring your Green/St.Patricks Day quilts for March. We want to see everything you have made since January, so please bring those, too!

We are making up for missing our time together, so Show and Tell will be awesome, as always.

We love sharing our love of quilting with everyone. We hope to see you at our meeting.💕

Daviess County Public Schools are closed tomorrow, so I’m sorry to say that the Guild meeting for Thursday, February 5th is cancelled.

The Board has decided that there will be no meeting in February.

Until then, sew, sew, sew! March’s Show and Tell will be fantastic!

We will miss all of you. Keep safe and warm.🥰

Happy February!

It’s Guild week, we hope. I have never seen snow hang around this long in KY. Hopefully, it will all melt and go away by Thursday.

Snowdays are sew days for quilters, as long as the electricity stays on. I’m sure there will be lots of Show and Tell projects at our meeting.

We meet Thursday, February 5 at Crosspointe Baptist Church, 550 Worthington Road, Owensboro, KY 42301.

We would love to see you there.

Our theme for Show and Tell is hearts, red, pink. Please look in your stash of quilts and bring them with you. Of course we want to see whatever you have made even if it isn’t hearts, red, or pink.

The meeting starts at 9:30, but you can get there around 9:00 to sign in, meet some people, and get a good seat.

The Fat Quarter exchange is green or St. Pattick’s Day.
Members, please wear your name tags.

If you would like to join our guild the dues are $25.

If Daviess County Schools are closed, the meeting is cancelled.

Please enjoy our Show and Tell from the January meeting. All of them are beautiful.

Happy New Year!! We wish you all a blessed, happy, prosperous, healthy, and quilty new year!

Maybe 2026 will be the year you dip your toe into the world of making quilts! We are here to help you, and excited for you to join us.

We will be meeting Thursday, January 8, at Crosspointe Baptist Church, 550 Worthington Rd, Owensboro, KY. The meetingpp starts at 9:30 am, but you can get there early to meet people and get a good seat.

The dues are $25 for the year. You will receive a newsletter and be able to attend our Quilt Events (with a catered lunch from one of our local restaurants. Bring your own drink that has a lid).

Our first Quilt Event (March 19 at 9:30 am) will be a Color Theory class using fabrics from Terry’s fabric stash. It’s a fun, interactive class. More information will be given next month.

Please be sure to wear your name tag for the name tag drawing.

The Fat Quarter (18” x22 of fabric) Drawing will be “Snow or Blue”. So bring as many as you want, and put your name in the hat for each fat quarter you bring. You can only win once.

The Show and Tell theme is Snow or Blue. ❄️

You can bring other colors of quilts, too. Having a theme inspires members to realize that they have a blue quilt they forgot about, or maybe they forgot about a snowman quilt. ⛄️ Bring finished, unfinished, and half made; it doesn’t matter. We want to see what you have been creating. 😊

Plesse come and visit us. We would love to meet you.
