🇺🇸 America 250 Field of Honor Needs YOU! 🇺🇸

This September 11-13, 2026, the America 250 Field of Honor will transform Owatonna Regional Degner Airport into a breathtaking display of nearly 1,000 American flags honoring those who have made a difference in our lives. The event celebrates America's 250th Anniversary while supporting Exchange Club programs focused on Child Abuse Prevention, Americanism, Community Service, and Youth.

We're looking for:

From September 11–13, hundreds of American flags will stand proudly on 7½-foot white flagstaffs across the grounds of the Owatonna Degner Regional Airport, creating a breathtaking panorama of red, white, and blue.

It's back to school season! Somewhere this morning, a kid is wearing a brand new backpack, a teacher is writing their name on the board, and a parent is wiping away a happy tear in the drop-off line.

Exchange Clubs will be right there all year long: handing out scholarships, honoring Youth of the Month, and celebrating students through our A.C.E. Awards.

In 1911, a handful of people in Detroit believed communities could be better, and decided to do something about it. That belief built Exchange.

Today, $19 keeps that same belief working: supporting the programs that protect children, honor our country, and strengthen the communities we call home.

Nineteen dollars. A nod to 1911, and a hand in what comes next.

Here's the thing about Exchange: it's not really a national organization. It's hundreds of local ones.

Your local club is your neighbors. The dentist down the street, the retired teacher, the young parent who wants to give back. They meet nearby, they pick projects that matter to YOUR town, and they'd genuinely love to see a new face.

Curious what's happening in your area? Find your closest club and stop by a meeting. That's it. That's the whole first step.

Here's something Exchange members have known for over a century, and science keeps confirming: service is good for you.

Research links regular volunteering to lower rates of depression and anxiety, a stronger sense of purpose, and even a longer life. One review found volunteers had a meaningfully lower risk of mortality than non-volunteers. And the benefits run deepest for people who serve simply to help others.

We don't show up for the health benefits. But it turns out that giving back gives back.

Sophia Hiebert was presented with The National Exchange Club Legacy of the Year award, July 11, at the National Convention in Omaha, Nebraska. Presenting the award is Past National Exchange Club President Scot Warren (pictured left). Sophia is the recipient of a $15,000 scholarship with being selected. She earned National consideration after being the Legacy recipient in the Lakes & Prairies District. She is the daughter of Gary and Audra Hiebert, who are members of the Exchange Club of the Des Moines Area, and the granddaughter of David and Diana Sash, who are members of the Exchange Club of Waterloo. Legacy of the Year honors high school students who are children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren of Exchange club members. These students provide incentive for others to serve their communities and country.
