Have you ever gambled and hoped that you would win? Keep playing a game over and over hoping that the outcome would work out?

The problem is for a lot of us prayer is like buying a lottery ticket.

-A chance at a life here on earth that would be worry free, stress free and pain free.

-For others it is mainly a sentimental habit. Like reciting favorite song lyrics or a beloved nursery rhyme from childhood. “Bless this food. Help me have a great night sleep…”

-Yet for others they pray because they feel guiltier if they don’t.

But none of these prayers reflect the life Jesus came to give us.

Instead, he called us to leave everything to follow him.

Over the last couple of weeks we have been talking qbaout our posture
- Posture of extravagant worship.
- Posture of radical obedience.

Today — the posture of Dead Man Walking.

You can't kill what's already dead.
- That's a bold thing to say. It only holds up if resurrection is a real thing — not just a phrase we like.
