Oswego Junior Woman's Club

Oswego Junior Woman's Club OJWC is a not-for-profit organization that supports the local community with a focus on women and children.

The Oswego Junior Woman's Club is made up of local women that have a passion for giving back to the community through their volunteer services. The club has many ideas in the works on how it can give back and improve the lives of women and children around us. With the support of our community, friends and family we can make our efforts a huge success! Our club meets once a month, is open for membe

rship to any woman age 18 to 100+ and the club is always happy to get visitors that just want to check us out. This is a wonderful opportunity for any woman that wants to promote and develop their leadership skills, make new friends from the area, and be hands on with community improvement activities. It’s been a fantastic week!!!
Last weekend several of our members represented OJWC at the Family Feud Fundraiser hosted by the Oswegoland Senior Center. They had a blast participating in the games, and we had a team win!!!!

Then Wednesday we hosted a Membership event looking for ladies who want to join our club! It was nice to meet so many new faces, and we look forward to having a successful club year!!!

Women’s Equality Day | August 26

Today, we recognize Women’s Equality Day, commemorating the certification of the 19th Amendment in 1920 and the generations of women who worked to expand women’s rights and opportunities.

It’s also a day to celebrate how far women have come while recognizing the importance of continuing to support, encourage, and empower women in our own communities.

At the Oswego Junior Woman’s Club, we’re proud to be part of a long tradition of women coming together through volunteerism, leadership, friendship, and service to make a difference.

Here’s to the women who came before us, the women making an impact today, and the girls who will lead tomorrow. 💜

Days before our new member event, and we still have more club Member Spotlights to share!

Can’t make it to our Join Oswego Junior Woman’s Club - Meet & Greet! event this week? No problem! You can still message us or comment with any questions you have about joining the club.

Our official club meeting date is on 9/30 at 7pm, so you can still show up to that meeting and join in! We have our main Club Meetings on the last Wednesday of each month (shifts a little during the holidays). But we have public events being planned already, and we could always use more help!

Our Women’s Issues committee would like to share some information on supporting Military Families.

Military spouses often face unique challenges, including frequent relocations, career disruptions, child care needs, and long deployments. These issues affect not only families but also military readiness.

A newly established Presidential Military Spouse Commission will study these challenges and make recommendations to improve employment opportunities, housing, health care, education, child care, and other resources available to military spouses and their families.

Whether you have a military connection or simply want to learn more, it's a reminder of the important role military spouses play in supporting those who serve our country.
