OJWC is a not-for-profit organization that supports the local community with a focus on women and children.

The Oswego Junior Woman's Club is made up of local women that have a passion for giving back to the community through their volunteer services. The club has many ideas in the works on how it can give back and improve the lives of women and children around us. With the support of our community, friends and family we can make our efforts a huge success! Our club meets once a month, is open for membership to any woman age 18 to 100+ and the club is always happy to get visitors that just want to check us out. This is a wonderful opportunity for any woman that wants to promote and develop their leadership skills, make new friends from the area, and be hands on with community improvement activities. Last night at our monthly OJWC member meeting, we were thrilled to have guest speakers wig out for us!!!
Two athletes with Special Olympics Illinois- Region C showed up rockin’ some wigs to celebrate our upcoming 5th Annual OJWC Wig Crawl!!! They shared how the friendships and community within the organization is what they love most. Plus meeting celebrities is a fun bonus ☺️

What we fundraise from our Wig Crawl this year is going to them!! It’s almost 1 week away!!!!
Do you have your wig yet? Downtown Oswego will literally be overrun with hundreds of wigs.

Organized by the Oswegoland Park District and we will be there with our Human Slot Machine!!
That’s right, we’re BRINGING BACK the human slot machine but making it spooky themed to join the halloween festivities at Hudson Crossing Park 🖤👻

Last week was a busy one! For this year’s GFWC National Day of Service, OJWC members and members of our community came together for an empowering self-defense class led by R.A.D. Certified instructors Crystal Lafferty and Kristen Anderson.

Nearly 20 participants joined us for an hour of learning practical strategies and techniques to help us better defend and protect ourselves. And we were able to raise over $200 to donate to Mutual Ground.
A HUGE thank you to Crystal and Kristen for sharing their time, knowledge, and experience with us!

We also took another important step in our commitment to supporting women by signing the GFWC Signature Program Pledge to “Stand Up, Speak Up, and Show Up.” Pledge cards were shared with everyone in attendance, and several of us marked the moment by signing ours together. 💜

The pledge is a reminder that making a difference doesn’t end with one event. It means continuing to stand up, speak up, and show up for women in our community.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for a meaningful National Day of Service!
Plus thank you for all our returning and new club members who came to our first official club meeting of the year!
