Kelly Gossett is one of our super volunteers. Unfortunately, she needs to have another kidney replacement (details about her story are on the flyer), so she hasn't been able to work for a few months. She's always been willing to jump in and help wherever we need, so now we're asking our amazing community to help her. Let's sell out this BBQ on her behalf!

A huge thank you to Wellspring United Methodist Church for their very generous donation to our Start Strong program. Their donation will be used to purchase shoes for students because every kid deserves to start school with new shoes.

It's time to register for Start Strong 2026. This is our seventh year providing backpacks and school supplies to local families in need. We are thrilled to announce that we can again offer shoes and/or gift cards to every registered school-age child this year.

Registration is capped at 200.

Community Cares Group and the Kiwanis of Oswego are proud to announce our seventh annual Start Strong Back-to-School Backpack program for families in need. We are excited to announce that we will once again be offering new shoes or gift cards to each school age student. Backpacks will be distributed...

It's almost time for Start Strong, our back-to-school program. We piloted a program last year to provide new shoes or gift cards to every student who registered. It was overwhelmingly positive, so we are expanding the shoe program this year. (Students will still receive school supplies.)

Ways you can help:

1. Donate new shoes for students in preschool through high school. (drop off or send to 306 Westminster Ct, Oswego)

2. Donate on Paypal: paypal.me/communitycaresgroup

3. Donate on Venmo: (last four digits 0205)

4. Mail or drop off checks to 306 Westminster Ct, Oswego.

5. If you or someone you know has contacts at stores or shoe companies that may be able to help, please let us know. Community Cares is a federally registered non-profit.

UPDATE: Fully Funded!! Thank you to our generous donors!

Ross Mechanical Group installed the water heater today. They were gracious enough to install for the family and allow us to pay the balance when we raised it. Because of you, they won't have to wait.

We love our community!

Hey neighbors, we have a single mom of two who is in desperate need of a new water heater. They have had limited or no hot water for a month. The cost for a new water heater and installation is $800, and we hope to be able to get it installed this week.

Also, if you are a plumber or know someone who might be willing to work with us on a lower cost, please send us a message.
