UPDATE: Fully Funded!! Thank you to our generous donors!

Ross Mechanical Group installed the water heater today. They were gracious enough to install for the family and allow us to pay the balance when we raised it. Because of you, they won't have to wait.

We love our community!

Hey neighbors, we have a single mom of two who is in desperate need of a new water heater. They have had limited or no hot water for a month. The cost for a new water heater and installation is $800, and we hope to be able to get it installed this week.

Also, if you are a plumber or know someone who might be willing to work with us on a lower cost, please send us a message.

You can donate three ways:
1. Paypal: paypal.me/communitycaresgroup
2. Venmo:
3. Cash or check dropped off at 306 Westminster Ct, Oswego.

Thank you!

Kiwanis is a great partner for our Start Strong Backpack program. They do a lot of other good things in the community all year long. And the pancakes they serve are really good! 🙂

Excited to partner with OEHS Key Club International and Oswego East High School Bands

Happy New Year!

We are trying to help a community member who saw a post about a local group or service that will provide transportation to community members. She needs assistance transporting a child to a class after school hours. If you have any ideas, please share or send us a DM so we can pass them on to her.

Thank you!

I saved this photo for its own post because these awesome women deserve to be celebrated. This is the board of directors of Community Cares. We all bring different talents and skills to the group, and we work together to create something special. They carried so much of Community Cares while my son was sick and after he passed last year. They are colleagues, but more importantly, they are friends, and I want to publicly thank them for all they do.

It often takes us a little time to share about our Holiday Project because we’re overwhelmed—in the very best way. This project truly reflects our name. This community DOES care. We are so proud to play a part in bringing together generous sponsors and donors to support families in need.

This is by far our biggest project of the year—and the one that takes the most heart, time, and community effort. Everything comes together on distribution day, when the long hours fade away as we watch car after car—loaded to the max—drive off carrying gifts and food to families.

We are incredibly grateful for every single sponsor, volunteer, and donor—many of whom showed up in all three roles! Because of you, 78 families and nearly 200 children will have presents and joyful memories this holiday season.

As always, we are so thankful for our partnership with Lt. Kris Kearns and the Oswego Fire Protection District for allowing us to “shop” the Toys for Tots gifts to supplement each child’s gift bags. Every year, they move their trucks outside so we can sort and distribute in the truck bays. On a frigid day like yesterday, this is no small task—but they do it with smiles on their faces. We truly could not do this project without their support.

We also want to give special thanks to Sarah Berning and all of the SD308 Social Workers who identify families and assist with registration and communication. Your care and dedication make all the difference.

We are deeply grateful to the generous corporate and personal donors who helped us purchase food and teen gifts:ďż˝
Alderman Edward J. Bugg, Aurora’s 9th Ward • J & S Construction • Oswego Class of 2025 Senior Celebration • Stephan Zouras, LLC • Matt Kellogg, Kendall County Board • President, Bobby Richardson, Kendall County Undersheriff, • Mid-America Carpenters Regional Council • Dominick Cirone • Mark Martynus • Nancy Eichelberger • Chuck Lederman & Jan Litvene • Michael Tiffany • Kendall County Young Republicans

A huge shoutout to the groups who sponsored multiple and/or very large families:Oswegoland Park District • Oswego Wellness/Plainfield Wellness • Community Unit School District 308 District Administration Center • Wellspring United Methodist Church • Becoming - Oswego • Delta Aquatics families • Grande Park Changemakers Club • Kendall County Democrats • Kendall County Indivisible

And finally, to those who showed up with big bags of gifts for teens—we see you, and we thank you from the bottoms of our hearts. 💙

Thank you everyone who has signed up to sponsor a family or donated so we can do the shopping. We used those funds to sponsor one large family!

We still have ten families that need sponsors. Can you find a friend or group to sponsor a family? We know times are tight for everyone so sharing a family is a good way to keep individual costs down.

As always, we will also accept donations to help us shop for the kids.

If nothing, please share this post so we can reach more people.

Thank you for your continued support of Community Cares and the families we serve!

We've added more families, and we are still looking for sponsors.

We have several large families this year, which are great to divide up between friends or coworkers.

Thank you for help!
