Distinguished Young Women of Rutherford County is a scholarship program open to high school senior girls. It provides scholarship opportunities, empowers its participants and supports the "Be Your Best Self" outreach program. We would love to have you as our sponsor. What an incredible evening at the 44th Distinguished Young Women of Rutherford County program.

We celebrated an unforgettable year with our 2026 Distinguished Young Woman, Ava Garland, as she said farewell. At the end of the evening, Ava Miller was selected as the 2027 Distinguished Young Woman of Rutherford County—an exciting new chapter begins.

The night truly captured the beauty of individuality with this year’s theme, “The Art of Being You.” From start to finish, the audience was entertained by 10 Little Sisters, 8 Hasbeens, and 7 outstanding participants, each bringing their own unique spark to the stage.

Congratulations to all who made this evening so special!

We are so excited to announce that Ava Garland, the 2026 Distinguished Young Woman of Rutherford County, will be hosting the Be Your Best Self Day Camp on January 3rd!

This free event is open to girls in 1st–5th grade and is designed to inspire and empower them through dance, art, fitness, and friendship.

At the camp, participants will:
✨ Learn a fun dance that builds confidence and teamwork
✨ Create an art project to express their creativity
✨ Try out fitness activities that promote health and energy
✨ Enjoy a free lunch and make new friends
✨ Celebrate their strengths through connection and fun

The camp will be led by Ava and a team of current and former Distinguished Young Women participants who are eager to pour into these young girls and help them explore what it means to be bold, creative, active, and confident.
