🚨 VOLUNTEER DRIVERS NEEDED! HELP US FIGHT WEEKEND HUNGER! 🚨

As we prepare for another school year, we urgently need volunteer drivers for our Take-Along Weekend Food Program! ❤️🍎 Local students are counting on us to help ensure they have food to eat when school is out for the weekend, and we need YOUR help to make it happen!

🚗 What does volunteering involve? Each week, volunteer drivers pick up packed food totes and deliver them to Oskaloosa Elementary & Middle Schools, helping provide essential food support to local students and families.

👭 Bring a friend! You’re welcome to have someone ride along to help carry and deliver the totes.

💛 Can't commit every week? No problem! There are multiple opportunities throughout the school year, and you can sign up for the weeks that fit your schedule.

⚠️ WE NEED VOLUNTEERS TO HELP MAKE THIS PROGRAM POSSIBLE! Every delivery matters, and even one hour of your time can make a BIG difference in a child's life. No student should have to worry about where their next meal is coming from over the weekend.

👉 READY TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE? SIGN UP TO VOLUNTEER TODAY! https://www.volunteermahaska.org/need/detail/...

Please share this post and help us spread the word! Together, we can help ensure local children have the food they need to thrive. 🥰💛

Our students need us. Will you step up? ❤️

The district’s summer lunch program and its partnership with United Way have helped make the program affordable.
United Way helps find volunteers who help serve summer meals.
These volunteers help the district spend less on staffing during the summer program.
By saving on labor costs, the nutrition department has more money to support other food programs, like free breakfast during the school year.
District officials said community volunteers and the summer lunch program are essential to making the breakfast program possible.
