This weeks Board Member Spotlight of the Week is featuring Eddie Pierson!

Eddie Pierson has been a member of the United Way of Mahaska County board for almost three years.

As a member of the board, he enjoys collaborating with other community members to make a difference in Mahaska County.

His favorite United Way of Mahaska County events are the Summer Lunch Program, the Back to School fair, and recently added, being the emcee for Power of the Purse!

He is supported by his amazing wife Jill and his 4 boys, Cameron (20), Keagan (18), Dylan (16), and Beckett (7).

This weeks Board Member Spotlight of the Week is featuring Micaela Van Zee!

Micaela Van Zee is serving her 5th year on the United Way Board. She enjoys being part of the board and witnessing the positive impact United Way has on the community. Her favorite event is the Back-to-School Fair – the smile you see on the kids faces when you hand them supplies or a new pair of shoes is something that just can’t be beat!

Professionally, she has spent the last decade with Clow Valve, where she currently serves as an Executive Sales Coordinator.

In her free time, Micaela enjoys shopping, working on home projects, and spending time with friends and family.

This weeks Board Member Spotlight of the Week is featuring Nathaniel Harris!

I am a community member of the United Way Board of Mahaska County and have served in that capacity since 2021. My wife and I live on a farm between Oskaloosa and Eddyville with our two kids and are expecting a third baby in July. Since we moved back to Mahaska County in 2018 we have been involved with organizations like 4-H, Meals from the Heartland, and our local church, Central Church of Oskaloosa. I have had the opportunity to volunteer with United Way programs like Back to School Fair, Bingo Ball, and Community Investment Night. Being a board member has made me realize just how critical of a role United Way plays connecting resources from volunteers and businesses in our community with our neighbors who could use a hand while experiencing hardship or who just appreciate a cold glass of lemonade on a hot July day. United is the Way!

This weeks Board Member Spotlight of the Week is featuring Jodi Goodale!

Hi! My name is Jodi Goodale. I started working as a Senior Capital Engineer at Cargill
in Eddyville in January 2024. I currently live in Fremont, Iowa.

I was born and raised in SW Iowa. I obtained my bachelor’s in mechanical engineering
from Iowa State University quite a few years ago. I have two grown daughters, 4
grandchildren and 3 step-grandchildren.

I have spent most of my adult life living and working in Iowa although before starting at
Cargill I had been working in Columbus, Ohio for just over 5 years. Almost all my family
lives in Iowa so it only made sense to move back when given the opportunity. I am
looking forward to being more involved in my local communities and am excited to be
working with United Way.
