I look at my title cover photo on this page and I think, "Wow, how peaceful and calm this photo looks." Then I remember two days later the wind was blowing up waves five feet high and a boat was rammed into one of the support lines that provided internet to the island. Snow flurries blasted me in the face, while we were trying to catch our limit of Halibut on a similar boat off the coast.
Such is life... when I left for Alaska my Father really hated to see me go. It was the shortest trip I had ever taken to Alaska. I am not sure why we booked it that way, but I guess it was God's plan.
When I made it back I had only three days to visit with my Father. He was tired from doing the Old Thresher's Reunion Show. He told me it was his last show. By Thursday he told me he wasn't going to be able to continue to run the shop, but I still didn't understand what he was telling me. Before 6 a.m. Friday he made his last trip to meet his maker and see all the relatives that had went on before him.
I still don't understand why he took this trip without me, but I guess I have a few more chores to finish.
