Oro Valley Theatre Company is pleased to announce auditions for On Golden Pond, the beloved play by Ernest Thompson.

Return to the shimmering shores of Golden Pond, where Norman and Ethel Thayer spend what may be their final summer together at their lakeside cottage. Filled with warmth, humor, wit, and emotional depth, On Golden Pond is a timeless story about family, aging, reconciliation, and the enduring power of love.

This production will run February 18th-21st at the Gaslight Music Hall, with rehearsals beginning in early January.

Roles Available:

Norman Thayer, Jr. — 70 to 80. Intelligent, witty, cantankerous, and sharply funny. Beneath his sarcasm and preoccupation with aging is a man confronting his own vulnerability.

Ethel Thayer — 60 to 70. Warm, energetic, loving, and grounded. She has a wonderful sense of humor and is the emotional heart of the family.

Bill Ray — 40s. Chelsea's fiancé. Intelligent and confident, with a dry sense of humor. He must navigate Norman's intimidating personality while holding his own.

Billy Ray, Jr. — 13 to 15. Teenager. Bill's son. Initially guarded and somewhat rebellious, Billy develops an unexpected and meaningful friendship with Norman.

Please have a prepared monologue. Auditioners may also be asked to read from the script.

When a murder brings the Orient Express to a snowy halt, Hercule Poirot must untangle a web of deception where everyone has something to hide. Agatha Christie’s legendary mystery, brilliantly adapted for the stage by Ken Ludwig, brings suspense, wit and theatrical thrills to our anniversary season.

We’re continuing our cast reveals for Neil Simon’s The Odd Couple (Female Version), and today we’re introducing two more members of our fabulous cast!

Constantino Nuzzo as Manolo Costazuela

Constantino is thrilled to return for another OVTC production! Audiences may recognize him from his recent OVTC roles as Professor Plum in Clue: On Stage, Paravicini in The Mousetrap, and Sheriff Thomas in The Rainmaker. He has also performed with Borderland Theater as The Mountain and The Priest in Blame of Thrones.

We’re delighted to have Constantino back on the OVTC stage! 👏

Karen Alexander as Renee

Karen is back—and this time marks her 12th OVTC production since moving to the area in 2018! Her favorite acting roles over the years include Clairee in Steel Magnolias, Penelope in You Can’t Take It With You, Miss Casewell in The Mousetrap, The Dowager Countess in Too Many Daughters, and a Clown in 39 Steps.

Karen is excited to join this incredibly talented cast and bring Neil Simon’s brilliant wit to our community. We’re so happy to have her back!

CAST REVEAL!

We’re thrilled to introduce two more members of our cast for THE ODD COUPLE: FEMALE VERSION!

ROBIN BOUSEL as MICKEY

A familiar and much-loved presence in Tucson theatre, Robin Bousel brings more than three decades of experience as a performer, director, educator, and arts leader to the role of Mickey. Her recent work includes Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike, Macbeth, The Miss Firecracker Contest, and People, Places & Things. Robin also recently directed Falsettos and serves as Artistic Director of Winding Road Theatre.

With a deep commitment to both performance and arts education, Robin is a wonderful addition to this production, and we’re excited to have her bringing Mickey to life!

SARAH MERRY as VERA

Sarah Merry joins us as Vera, bringing her experience as an educator and academic advisor, as well as her continued work toward her MFA. Her favorite roles include Roz in Moon Over Buffalo, the Little Green Girl in Pillowman, and Melanie in Shady Meadows.

Sarah is excited to be part of The Odd Couple and grateful to everyone who supports the local theatre community. We’re grateful to have her with us!

We’re thrilled to announce that Oro Valley Theatre Company has been awarded a grant from the Arizona Commission on the Arts, an agency of the State of Arizona!

This funding will help support Oro Valley Theatre Company, allowing us to continue doing what we love most: bringing live theatre, laughter, and meaningful stories to our community.
