"Courage" is an Emmy Award-winning short film inspired by Eric Michael Hernandez experiences learning the skill and meaning of hoop dancing from his uncle Terry Goedel, a Yakama and Tulalip Tribal member and 10-time world champion hoop dancer.

It is a story of heritage, strength, healing, and belonging, told through the lens of the filmmaker whose life inspired it.

See "Courage" as part of "Courage in Motion" on November 5 at the Fox Tucson Theatre.

One night. One deeply personal story, experienced through film, storytelling, and hoop dance.

On November 5, Emmy Award–winning filmmaker and world-renowned Native American hoop dancer Eric Michael Hernandez brings “Courage in Motion” to the historic Fox Tucson Theatre.

The evening begins with a screening of “Courage,” Eric’s award-winning short film inspired by his experiences, followed by personal storytelling and live hoop dance that brings his story to life through movement, rhythm, and tradition.
