🐾 Because of YOU, we’re still able to keep going ❤️
These faces represent the dogs currently depending on Bully Up Rescue—and we couldn’t do it without our village.
🚨 BULLY UP RESCUE IS IN CRITICAL NEED OF DONATIONS 🚨
We don’t make posts like this lightly, but we believe in being transparent with the community that has supported us for so many years.
For approximately 12 years, Bully Up Rescue has been helping pit bulls and bully breeds throughout Central Florida. We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization run through the support of our volunteers, foster families, adopters, and—most importantly—YOU. ❤️
We operate entirely through donations.
Those donations provide food, veterinary care, medications, training, supplies and everything else needed for the dogs under our care.
Over the past couple of years, rescue has changed tremendously. Donations have declined. Foster homes have become increasingly difficult to find. Meanwhile, many of the dogs needing rescue have more complicated medical or behavioral needs and require longer-term care.
Because of this, we have intentionally slowed our intake.
We believe strongly in rescuing responsibly. Taking in another dog when we don’t have the foster home or financial resources to properly care for them isn’t fair to that dog—or to the dogs who already depend on us.
Right now, our focus is on fulfilling the promises we’ve already made. 🐾
❤️ BOOMER
Boomer is doing wonderfully with his foster mama and is still searching for his forever home. He requires a special placement as the only pet in an adult home with no children.
❤️ JINX
Jinx is also thriving in foster care and searching for his forever family. He has some special medical and behavioral needs and will need the right home. No children, small dogs or cats for this guy—but Jinx would LOVE a big, playful canine companion!
❤️ MOLLY
Molly is another special girl who needs a patient, committed adopter. She has some “stranger danger” that we’ve worked on through training and will need someone willing to continue helping her feel safe and slowly introduce visitors. Molly is dog-friendly outside the home, but we believe she will be most successful as the only dog in an adult-only home.
❤️ RONNIE (REESIE ROO)
Our sweet Ronnie continues to do great in foster care while waiting for her person. Ronnie attends daycare and can play wonderfully with other dogs, but living with another dog isn’t her thing. She needs to be the only pet in her home—but she IS kid-friendly!
❤️ MARLEY
Our little bulldog queen bee! 👑 Marley does well interacting with larger dogs outside the home, but she prefers having her castle to herself. She absolutely ADORES children and is incredibly kid-friendly. Marley needs to be the only pet and cannot live with cats.
These five dogs are actively searching for forever homes.
But our responsibility doesn’t end there.
💙 BLUE
Blue came to us as an owner surrender from a family who loved her deeply but could no longer care for her. She is now safe and loved with an incredible forever foster while Bully Up continues providing for her needs. A HUGE thank-you to the Patel family for loving and supporting our girl. 💙
🤎 BROWNIE
Brownie recently returned to Bully Up at approximately 15 years old. And this is exactly why we always have to be prepared.
Our adoption contract requires that if one of our dogs ever needs to be surrendered or rehomed, they come back to us. Always.
Brownie is now settling beautifully into a loving forever foster home with one of our longtime fosters and volunteers. We’re currently providing veterinary care for ongoing ear infections and some additional senior health needs.
🐾 SHORTY
We also continue to be a resource for families who have previously adopted from us whenever we’re able. Recently, we’ve been helping Shorty’s family with veterinary care related to a possible mass on his back and ongoing skin issues.
This is what rescue looks like for us today.
It isn’t always pulling the next dog from a shelter.
Sometimes rescue means continuing to pay for the dog who’s been waiting years for a home.
Sometimes it means supporting a senior who comes back to us at 15 years old.
Sometimes it means helping an adopter through an unexpected medical situation.
And sometimes it means saying “not right now” to another intake because we refuse to make promises we don’t have the resources to keep.
Our doors will always remain open to the dogs who have come through Bully Up Rescue. Whether they were adopted last month or many years ago, if they need us again, we’re here.
But keeping that promise requires funding.
🚨 Right now, donations are critically needed to help us continue caring for Boomer, Jinx, Molly, Ronnie, Marley, Blue and Brownie—and to continue supporting previous Bully Up dogs like Shorty when we’re able.
Every $5, $10, $20 or $50 donation matters. Small donations collectively keep food bowls full, medications filled, vet appointments scheduled and our commitment to these dogs intact.
If you’ve followed us over the years…
If you’ve adopted from us…
If you’ve fostered for us…
If one of our goofy bully faces has ever made you smile…
Please consider helping us continue.
Donation options will be posted in the comments below. ⬇️
And if you aren’t able to donate, please share this post. Sharing costs nothing and may put one of our dogs in front of the person they’ve been waiting for.
For roughly 12 years, this community has helped us give bully breeds throughout Central Florida another chance.
We’re still here.
We’re just rescuing a little differently these days—and making sure the dogs we’ve already promised forever to never stop being our responsibility. ❤️🐾
Thank you for standing with Bully Up Rescue.
