October is shaping up to be a busy and exciting month at the Christian Service Center, with plenty of opportunities to connect, learn, and celebrate!

💈 Every Tuesday: Our friends from the Barber Academy of Orlando will be on campus providing free haircuts for our clients and neighbors.
💙 October 9: We’ll gather for our annual Heart of the Community Breakfast, a morning of fellowship, gratitude, and powerful stories from those we serve.
🏠 October 15: Join us for our Mission in Motion Tour and get a firsthand look at our campus, programs, and the work happening every day to help our neighbors find their way home.
✂️ October 22: We’ll celebrate an exciting milestone as we officially unveil our newly expanded campus spaces! We are incredibly proud of what these spaces will make possible for those we serve and can’t wait to share more from this special day.

We have so much to look forward to this October. Stay tuned as we share more throughout the month!

Our team recently came together for an all-staff pep rally to get ready for some exciting things ahead at the Christian Service Center. We shared updates on our upcoming events and what’s happening across our organization before breaking into teams for a friendly scavenger hunt competition!

This is what 407 Connect is all about. 💙

We are incredibly proud of Jashonda and Taylon and grateful to them for sharing their stories. Their journeys are a powerful reminder of what can happen when someone has a safe place to sleep, the right support, and a pathway forward.

Meet this week's Good Neighbor: Maslan from Compassion Corner!

As an intern with our on-site partner Compassion Corner, Maslan takes the time to sit with our clients, listen to their stories, and learn how she can best support them.

Compassion Corner starts the day by serving coffee to our neighbors and provides morning and afternoon Bible studies and prayer, while also connecting those we serve with social service referrals and other assistance.

Whether it’s over a cup of coffee or a conversation, Maslan is always willing to listen and lend a helping hand.

Thank you, Maslan, for being a Good Neighbor on our campus and for taking the time to listen and learn! 💙

Help us fill the table. 🍽️💙

From September 21 through November 30, our Daily Bread kitchen will be undergoing a much-needed renovation, but our neighbors will still arrive each day in need of a meal.

During this time, we are calling on our community to help us provide 280 lunches and 225 dinners every weekday.

Churches, businesses, civic organizations, schools, families and groups of friends can sign up to provide one meal or several. Meals can be homemade, catered or as simple as brown-bag lunches. They just need to arrive ready to serve.

A meal may seem like a small thing, but to someone wondering where their next meal will come from, it is nourishment, kindness and a reminder that they have not been forgotten.

We were honored to welcome representatives from Bartow, Winter Haven, Apopka, Sanford, and Orange County to our campus to learn more about our 407 Connect shelter bus program! 🚌💙

Representatives from the various Community Redevelopment Agencies had the opportunity to see 407 Connect firsthand, learn how the program operates, and hear about the impact it has had on those we serve.

We are proud to share what we have learned through 407 Connect and inspire other communities to explore innovative solutions that could help meet the needs of their own neighbors experiencing homelessness.
