STEM Gift Drive

Your ideas. Your connections. A young person’s future.

The STEM Gift Drive is looking for volunteers to join our campaign board! Help us bring STEM toys, games, and books to young people who might otherwise miss out—and spark curiosity about what their futures could hold.

If you enjoy connecting people, organizing events, building community partnerships, or spreading the word about a meaningful cause, i’d love to talk with you about getting involved.

Curious about the role and time commitment? Call Tee Rogers, our founder & CEO (Chief Elf Organizer), at 407-608-9242.

Let’s explore how your interests and talents could help inspire the next generation of innovators.

Today we celebrate the birthday of Florence Seibert. Dr. Seibert was an American scientist who developed the protein substance used for the tuberculosis skin test, and contributed to safety measures for intravenous drug therapy. In the early 1920s, she discovered that the sudden fevers that sometimes occurred during intravenous injections were caused by bacteria in the distilled water used to make the protein solutions. She invented a distillation apparatus designed to prevent such contamination. In 1941, her improved TB skin test became the standard test in the U.S. and a year later was adopted by the World Health Organization. It is still in use today. Thanks for your work Dr. Seibert!

💖 What do you love doing—and how could it make a difference for someone else?

We were grateful to participate in the Orange County, Florida Government Office on Aging’s first annual Volunteer Fair, connecting adults 55 and older with opportunities to serve across Central Florida.

Sharon Smith of Volunteers for Community Impact shared an inspiring reminder: making a difference for others can make a difference in our own lives, too.

The right opportunity can bring new friendships, meaningful experiences, and a chance to put your interests and skills to work. Your time is valuable, and finding a project where you feel welcomed, supported, and useful matters.

Our newest article explores finding that fit, asking questions before committing, and ways to help future innovators through the STEM Gift Drive.

No science or technology background needed—your community connections and willingness to help can go a long way.
