Our heartfelt thoughts and prayers go out to the family and friends of Randy Schmitz. Randy passed away earlier this week after a courageous 12-year fight against brain cancer. In the past few months, we had the opportunity to visit him, and during those times, he always smiled the brightest when he was with his wife Amanda and their two young children, Autumn and Landon. He truly embodied the role of a husband and father and that was apparent during every visit. Our team is grateful to have played a part in creating some of those smiles and cherished memories. We will keep them in our thoughts in the days, weeks, and months to come.

We celebrated a major milestone by holding our first support group discussion on survivorship, coinciding with National Cancer Survivor’s Month. Despite the storms limiting our attendance, we had meaningful conversations and enjoyed hearing from every survivor. Thank you to Peggy Kupres (a 25 year survivor) for being our first guest speaker. Looking forward to hosting more groups in the future, minus the tornado sirens.
