MARK YOUR CALENDARS FOR OCTOBER 1!

The animals are already "in training." From speedy horses to determined donkeys, every dollar you give (or raise) will help them sprint faster to the finish line. Most importantly, all gifts fuel life-changing programs that help kids build brighter futures.

More details to follow on how you pick your racer and power the animals that are powering the mission!

Does your major require an internship? Make it one that matters.

Spring internships are now open at Storybook Farm!

Rest assured, you won’t spend your semester watching from the sidelines. You’ll be part of the day-to-day action, taking on real responsibilities, learning alongside our team, building skills you’ll carry into your career, and working directly with children from all kinds of backgrounds and circumstances..

Internships can connect with majors across education, human development, nonprofit, communications, animal science, sociology, psychology, and more.

And the setting is pretty hard to beat: 51 acres, 17 horses, 5 dogs, 4 cats, 2 gardens, hundreds of children and plenty of stories.

If your major requires an internship or you want your spring semester to give you more than another line on your resume, Storybook could be your spot.

Spring internship applications close October 2.

Apparently, the secret to getting A LOT done at Storybook is 100+ Auburn University Honors College students! Storybook was the first stop for their Week of Service, and they did not waste any time. In just a few hours, projects were tackled, things were hauled, cleaned, organized and checked off our list faster than we could add to it.

And because one dose of Honors College wasn’t enough, we headed to campus Thursday for the Honors College Week of Service Fair, where we visited and talked about all the ways they can be part of Storybook this year.

We’re incredibly grateful for all the organization behind the scenes, the many hands, great attitudes and the serious amount of work. You made a BIG difference in a very short amount of time, and set an alarmingly high standard for every volunteer group that follows!

Auburn Honors College students, you can come back anytime . . . we still have a few more lists.

Volunteer registration is open now!

Trade a few hours on campus for time at Storybook Farm, where you’ll encourage a child learning to guide a horse, listen as they read to a dog, explore alongside them in the garden, and celebrate successes!

You’ll make friends, spend time outside, and add a pretty memorable chapter to your college experience. If you’ve volunteered before, come back. If you haven’t, this is your invitation.

No prior experience is needed. We’ll teach you what you need to know.

All that’s missing is you!

There’s nothing we love more than bringing people together at the Farm!

This week, we had the best time welcoming Nutramax Laboratories and the 1st-3rd year Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine students to Storybook Farm.

It was an evening of great conversations, tunes with , and plenty of Storybook animals to give these future veterinarians a firsthand look at just how powerful the connection between animals and children can be.

A huge thank you for bringing everyone together! We loved having you at Storybook!

We wrapped up summer at Storybook Farm with our Tom Sawyer & Huck Finn Best Friends Day event with plenty of good old-fashioned fun to go around!

Families tried their hand at classic games, filled up on hot dogs, hamburgers, PB&Js and other things that just belong together, explored the Farm, and every child chose a book from Ribsy's Library to take home and keep. To put it plain and simple like Huck Finn would say, it was a little friendly competion and lots of families simply enjoying a summer afternoon together.
Tom and Huck would have fit right in.

And we're not finished yet! Our Fall & Winter Special Edition Events are coming, with more opportunities for the whole family to experience Storybook together.

Stay tuned for details and visit our website to see what's happening next at the Farm!

❤️⚡ Thank You, Alabama Power Foundation! ⚡❤️

Storybook Farm extends our heartfelt gratitude to the Alabama Power Foundation for its generous investment in our mission. Their support helps us continue building brighter futures for the thousands of children and families we serve each year through literacy, nature, and animal-assisted learning experiences.

We are especially grateful for the long-standing relationship we have enjoyed with Alabama Power and Rod Cater, whose three decades of dedicated service reflect the company’s deep commitment to the people and communities of Alabama. Rod has been a wonderful friend to Storybook Farm, and we sincerely appreciate his support and leadership.

🌱 Learning Comes to Life at Storybook Farm! 🌱

Recently, Storybook Farm welcomed another wonderful group of students for our Booked for the Day program, a day filled with learning, discovery, and hands-on fun in the great outdoors!

Throughout the day, the students experienced the magic of Storybook Farm by:
🐴 Learning how to groom and care for horses.
🌱 Discovering how gardens grow and why they are so important.
📖 Gathering for story time as Mrs. Christy Jones read the beloved children's book If You Give a Dog a Donut.

To make the day even more special, each child received a "Forever Book" through Storybook Farm's Books for Keeps program, helping them build their own home library and encouraging a lifelong love of reading. 📖

At Storybook Farm, we believe every child deserves opportunities to learn, explore, imagine, and grow; and Booked for the Day is one of the many ways we bring that mission to life.

Interested in bringing your school, homeschool group, or youth organization to Storybook Farm?

📧 For more information about our Booked for the Day program, please contact Mrs. Christy Jones at [email protected].

We can't wait to welcome your group to the Farm! 🐴🌿
