After a rainy week, our downtown businesses could use a little extra love. ☀️ Grab a coffee, shop a local store, or enjoy a meal downtown this weekend!

‼️ Hey everyone!

Wanted to jump on here and ask that tomorrow (Friday) you make an effort to get out and support a brick and mortar business in downtown Opelika.

Summer is a slower time for some of our small shops and with the rain/tropical weather this week it’s hit pretty hard.

Our downtown historic business district is a special place and it takes a lot effort to make it what it is. If everyone shows up for us you’ll be helping all the small cherished things you love in our community! Please share! 🙏🏼

250 Years of America. 172 Years of Opelika. 🚂🇺🇸

Heritage House is a stunning survivor of Opelika’s residential history. Built in 1912 with a signature Spanish-tile roof, this landmark narrowly escaped demolition in the early 90s when it was almost replaced by a fast-food restaurant. Thanks to dedicated preservationists, the home and its carriage house were saved and restored.

Today, Heritage House thrives as a boutique inn and event venue, welcoming travelers from across the globe. By repurposing this historic family estate into a cornerstone of local hospitality, it stands as a beautiful reminder that our architectural treasures are always worth protecting. Learn more about the history of Heritage House at https://heritagehouse1913.com/.

Follow along each week as we share more places in Opelika that help shape our town’s story.

The cutest ice cream shop in downtown Opelika just celebrated their 11 year anniversary! 🍦💚 🥳

This Main Street Monday, we’re spotlighting O Town Ice Cream! Owners Chris and Angela George started O Town with just a push cart in 2015, and it has since grown into a beloved brick-and-mortar business plus the iconic O Town Ice Cream Truck we all know and love! 🚚✨

One of the coolest parts? Their ice cream flavors are inspired by people and places right here in Opelika and Lee County. From Chunky Monkey Park to Summer Swing Strawberry, every scoop is filled with local charm. 🍨🌟

Be sure to stop by and support this sweet local business!
