Sometimes when someone is struggling, we say:
“Let me know if you need anything.”
It is kind. It is well-intentioned.

But when someone is overwhelmed, grieving, depressed, anxious, or simply trying to get through the day, figuring out what they need and then asking for it can feel impossible.
Specific support can be easier to accept.

Instead of:
“Let me know if you need anything.”
Try:
✅ “I can take that meeting off your plate.”
✅ “I have time this afternoon. Want to talk?”
✅ “You haven’t seemed like yourself lately. How are you doing?”
✅ “You don’t have to explain everything. I can listen.”
And if they need more support, you can help them connect to 988.

You do not have to fix everything. You can make the next moment a little easier.

🦺 Today begins Construction Su***de Prevention Week.

The people who build our homes, roads, schools, hospitals, and communities deserve workplaces where mental health is treated as seriously as physical safety.
This year’s theme is Building on Progress, and the 2026 pledge is simple: “I pledge to learn at least one new way to seek help for someone in need.”

And today, construction workers and companies across the country are being invited to pause together.

At 1:50 PM Central, Construction Su***de Prevention Week will hold a one-minute national stand-down to remember those lost to su***de and recommit to preventing more lives from being lost. Construction Su***de Prevention

If you work in construction, love someone who does, or know a Nebraska company that should be part of this conversation, please share this with them.

Everyone deserves to go home safe. That includes mental health, too.
