The hope is that this brings the community together giving these children the same support that amber alert children receive and brings awareness to the community that these children may not know what they are doing. And if they do, it’s not rebellion. Their reasons for eloping are very real in their minds!

For Jessica Burklow, the thought of her 12-year-old son Rhett wandering off is terrifying. As the mother of a child with special needs, she knows firsthand how quickly a frightening situation can unfold.
