Declawing isn't a manicure. 💅 It's an amputation. 🪚

Declawing removes the last bone of each toe and can leave cats with chronic pain, litter box issues and a greater likelihood of biting. In some cases, these behavior changes can even cost cats their homes when families surrender them for problems caused by the procedure itself. 😿

The good news? Scratching is a normal, healthy behavior, and there are humane alternatives. Scratching posts, regular nail trims and nail caps can help protect your furniture without harming your cat.
