Clay on Main

Clay on Main clay on main is a non-profit clay studio that allows artists time and space to create. We serve the local community with a variety of clay arts programs.

We teach community classes and workshops in clay for adults and children, host professional workshops, collaborate with other non-profit organizations to offer learning opportunities through art, and hold public lectures and events.

Open call for proposals! Madres y Memoria: Altars of Home, juried by Liz Van Verth and Dra. Leslie Sotomayor. Each artist is invited to create their own 2 x 3 altar. The subject matter of who or what will be honored is up to the individual. There is no requirement to use the traditional practices of the Day of the Dead. The only requirement is to create a space that includes handmade, personal work. The altar can be displayed on the wall, a podium, a windowsill, or the floor. Integrating other cultures is encouraged.

Dates for art exhibit: September 6th-October 25th
Installation dates: August 31st-September 4th
De-install dates: October 25th-30th
Opening Reception 4-6pm on 9/6

Our skilled instructors will guide you through a simple and fun activity using ceramics, fused glass, felt, papermaking, printmaking, and more.

$50 per person; 4-person minimum; 10-15 people maximum, depending on the project. Bring your refreshments and music, and enjoy an intimate art experience on your schedule.

A few spots left for our Art Around the World Camp!

Art and art history-centered summer camp for kids ages 7-12.

July 13th-17th, 10 am – 2 pm

$300 per child

Ages 7-12

Enrollment is limited to 10 students

Students will spend five days learning, playing, and creating in Clay on Main’s ceramics studio. Each of the first four days will focus on a different part of the world. Each day, students will learn new art-making processes, including ceramics, fused glass, weaving, drawing, painting, collage, printmaking, and more. The camp will end with a mini-exhibition showcasing the students' work, open to family and friends.

Students will be provided a light afternoon snack, but a packed lunch is required.

Closed-toe shoes are required in the studio.
