The OVHS Auditorium Project is officially moving forward!

This project has been a true community effort, and we are incredibly grateful to everyone who helped make it possible — our generous donors, local businesses, families, alumni, community organizations, and everyone who supported this project.

Because of you, plans to improve the auditorium’s sound and lighting are taking the next step, creating an even better space for our students to learn, perform, create, and shine.

We can’t wait to watch this project come to life during the 2026–27 school year!

2026 William S. Gotwals Memorial Scholarship Recipient: Hannah Houp

Hannah is a highly involved student leader who has made a lasting impact at Oley through athletics, FFA, Student Council, Tri-M Music Honor Society, and service to others.

As a distinguished FFA member, Hannah served as President after previously holding the roles of Treasurer and Secretary. She participated in volunteer projects and numerous Leadership and Career Development Events, and earned the prestigious FFA Keystone Degree—a state-level honor recognizing exceptional leadership, commitment to agricultural education, and achievement in a Supervised Agricultural Experience.

Hannah is also an accomplished student-athlete. She served as captain of the Cross Country team for two years and competed in track and field, developing confidence and self-respect through distance running. She balanced these commitments while maintaining a remarkable 4.3 GPA, working at Levengood Flowers Inc., and assisting Mr. Deysher with agricultural science labs.

This fall, Hannah will attend Elizabethtown College to study Biotechnology while continuing to run competitively. She hopes to pursue graduate studies in Plant Genetics at Penn State University and use her education to help address global food insecurity.

Hannah’s leadership, work ethic, and vision for using science to improve the lives of others beautifully embody the spirit of this scholarship.

As we continue celebrating 30 years of OVCEF, we were excited to welcome our teachers back yesterday and recognize a milestone we are incredibly proud of:

🎉 More than $1 MILLION awarded in Education Grants! 🎉

We may help provide the funding, but the ideas start with our teachers.

For 30 years, Oley Valley educators have thought outside the box, dreamed up new possibilities, and found creative ways to bring learning to life for their students. Those ideas have become hands-on experiences, innovative classroom tools, unforgettable opportunities, and programs that might not otherwise have been possible.

$1 million is an incredible milestone—but it represents so much more than a number. It represents 30 years of teachers asking, “What if we could…?” and OVCEF having the privilege of helping turn those ideas into reality.

Thank you to our amazing teachers for continuing to inspire us with your creativity and dedication to Oley Valley students. We can’t wait to see what you dream up next!

2026 OVCEF Scholarship Recipient: Aidan Richard

Aidan distinguished himself through his strong character, genuine compassion, and sincere desire to make a difference in the lives of others. He strives to be a good person in everything he does and serves as a church youth group leader, using that role to provide guidance and serve as a positive influence for younger children.

Family is especially important to Aidan. His grandmother’s compassion and dedication to helping patients in the medical field have inspired him to pursue a similar path of service. He plans to study athletic training through an accelerated program, with the ultimate goal of working as an athletic trainer for a sports team.

During his scholarship interview, Aidan demonstrated curiosity and confidence by asking thoughtful questions of the committee—something few applicants chose to do. He also shared an impressive understanding of OVCEF’s impact, from equipment provided for the Project Lead the Way Biomedical Science pathway and support for the Holocaust Museum trip to the stories shared during the Distinguished Alumni ceremony.

Aidan’s character, initiative, and heart for helping others will serve him well as he pursues his education and future career.

2026 Sally Breidegam-Miksiewicz Memorial Scholarship Recipient: Katelyn Wagner

Katelyn is a hardworking, driven student whose high school experience reflects her commitment to leadership, service, academics, and personal growth. She has balanced an impressive range of activities, including dance, HOSA, Student Council, Prom Committee, National Honor Society, Tri-M Music Honor Society, and the International Order of the Rainbow for Girls.

Her ability to thrive under pressure and manage a demanding schedule has allowed her to make meaningful contributions throughout her school and community. Katelyn’s determination extends beyond the classroom as well—this year, she challenged herself to complete her first half-marathon.

Inspired by her biology teachers and her mother, Katelyn plans to pursue a career in physical therapy. Her interest in helping others, strong work ethic, and appreciation for the educational opportunities provided by OVCEF make her a wonderful reflection of the spirit behind this scholarship.

We are proud to support Katelyn as she takes the next step toward achieving her goals.
