🎬 Thank You, Oley Valley!

What a fantastic turnout for our first Summer Movie Night of 2026! It was wonderful to see so many families, friends, and community members come together for an evening of fun, activities, snacks, and The Goonies.

While we were disappointed that Mother Nature brought in the wind and storm before we could finish the movie, we appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding as we made safety our top priority. Unfortunately, the weather is one thing we can’t control!

Join us for our Keys for Learning Test Drive Event on Saturday, June 27, from 8:00 AM–12:00 PM at Oley Valley Elementary School!

For every eligible test drive completed, Performance Toyota will donate $100 to the Oley Valley Community Education Foundation — at no cost to you.

Attention high school students: Need community service hours?

The Oley Valley Community Education Foundation is looking for student volunteers to help at our Summer Movie Night on Thursday, June 11, from 6:00–10:00 PM!

Volunteers can:
• Help organize and play kickball with the kids before the movie
• Assist at the concession stand
• Help with setup and activities
• Assist with cleanup at the end of the evening

It’s a great opportunity to earn community service hours while helping create a fun night for local families.

2026 Berks County Mushroom Growers Scholarship Recipient: Hannah Houp!

Hannah will be attending Elizabethtown College as a student-athlete, majoring in Biotechnology with a focus on Plant Genetics. She will also continue her athletic career competing in cross country and track.

The Oley Valley Agricultural Education and FFA program played an important role in helping shape Hannah’s career path. Throughout high school, she was heavily involved in FFA, earned several awards, and proudly served as the organization’s President during her senior year.

Beyond her school involvement, Hannah has also dedicated countless hours to serving the community through volunteer work at events including the Community Pot Pie Dinner, Berks County Graveyard Preservation, the Oley Fair, and more.

Congratulations, Hannah! We wish you continued success both in the classroom and on the track!

What a fun way to wrap up the final Preschool Storytime of the year at the Oley Valley Community Library on Friday!

Miss Mary Lou and Miss Bri always do an amazing job creating engaging programs filled with fun stories, crafts, and smiles for our youngest community members. To celebrate the end of the year, they hosted a beach-themed party complete with make-your-own sundaes — and the kids absolutely loved it!

Thank you to the Oley Library for continuing to provide such wonderful programs for the families in our community. We are so lucky to have you!

2026 Sports Medicine Alumni Scholarship Recipient: Aidan Richard!

The Oley Valley Community Education Foundation is proud to recognize the recipient of the Sports Medicine Alumni Scholarship, awarded to a graduating senior pursuing a career in physical therapy or athletic training. This scholarship is generously funded each year by Oley Valley Alumni Kyle and Lauren Moore, who personally interview the finalists and select the student they feel best exemplifies the qualities and passion this scholarship represents.

This year’s recipient demonstrated outstanding character through both school and community involvement. As a member of the varsity basketball team and an active volunteer with his church’s youth group, he learned the value of perseverance, teamwork, and dedication — qualities that will serve him well in the healthcare field.

Throughout high school, he earned numerous academic scholar awards and completed the Biomedical Science Program, all while remaining humble, hardworking, and deeply family-oriented.

This fall, he will attend Alvernia University to pursue a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree, with hopes of combining his passion for sports and healthcare into a future career in sports medicine… perhaps even working with the Philadelphia Eagles someday!

His tremendous work ethic, dedication, and compassion make him incredibly deserving of this honor.
