Several weeks ago, Mr. Kline was involved in a severe motor vehicle accident and he sustained numerous injuries that required a long rehabilitation. He recently stopped by the station to personally thank Paramedic Geisinger and EMT Focht for helping him after the accident. We appreciate Mr. Kline for reaching out to our crew and we wish him luck during his continued recovery and rehabilitation.

Back in April, Mr. Barto (center) was involved in a motor vehicle accident and sustained numerous injuries. He recently stopped by the station to thank the crew that assisted him that day. Here he is with Paramedics Geisinger and Moquin. Wishing Mr. Barto continued luck with his recovery and appreciation for recognizing the care and treatment you received from our crew.

Looking for volunteer hours while supporting our local community? Join the Oley Valley FFA in helping at the Oley Valley Fire Company’s Annual Peach Festival on Saturday, August 8!

Volunteer Duties:
🚗 Collect parking donations
➡️ Direct visitors to available parking spaces

Choose a 3-hour shift:
🕚 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM
🕑 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM
🕔 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM

This is a great opportunity to earn community service hours, support one of Oley Valley’s biggest annual events, and represent our FFA chapter while serving our community.

Congratulations to Ethan Moquin for becoming our newest Nationally Registered Paramedic. Ethan has been with our organization for over two years serving as an EMT. We are extremely proud of him. We look forward to moving him into his new role as a paramedic.

Sympathies to the family of Deputy Coroner Joel Bonilla and to the members of the Berks County Coroner’s Office.

It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the sudden and unexpected passing of Deputy Investigator Joel Bonilla.

For more than 31 years, Joel faithfully served the citizens of Berks County with dedication, professionalism, compassion, and integrity. Throughout his career, he touched countless lives through his service and made a lasting impact on this office, his colleagues, and the community he so proudly served.

Joel was more than a coworker—he was a trusted colleague, mentor, and friend. His commitment to helping others, his steady presence, and his willingness to serve will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Today, we mourn not only the loss of a dedicated public servant but also a member of our Berks County Coroner’s Office family. The void left by his passing cannot be measured, and there are simply no words that can fully express the sadness we feel.

We ask that you keep Joel’s family, friends, and fellow members of the Berks County Coroner’s Office in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

Today, our department mourns the heartbreaking loss of Officer Kristen Yeager, who made the ultimate sacrifice while responding to a call for service on May 29, 2026.

Officer Yeager served our community with courage, compassion, and unwavering dedication. She answered the call to protect and serve each day, placing the safety of others above her own. Her commitment to her badge, her fellow officers, and the citizens she served will never be forgotten.

We ask that you keep Officer Yeager’s family, friends, and our entire law enforcement family in your thoughts and prayers during this incredibly difficult time.
