Ladybug Farm Sanctuary is so excited to introduce our new Lead Vet Tech and Farm Manager, Juliana Foster (aka Foster)!

Foster joined the team last March as a Vet Tech. She brings immense experience primarily working with wildlife, marine life, and small animals. Looking to expand her knowledge of farm animals, she found LBFS and we are so grateful that she did!

With her eagerness to dive into the dirty work, her enthusiasm for learning, her fearlessness in handling large animals, her veterinary expertise, and her clear leadership skills, she has proven that she is perfect to manage this incredibly busy sanctuary and rescue!

Can everyone, please help us welcome Foster to the LBFS family!!

Juliana Foster:

Iā€™ve always loved animals and science, and for me, this work is about combining the two to make a difference. I want to be a voice for animals who canā€™t advocate for themselves and help give animals who need it most the care, compassion, and quality of life they deserve.

I have a B.S. in Wildlife Conservation and an M.S. in Animal Health & Behavior Science, with a background in animal care, veterinary science, welfare, rescue, and education. Iā€™ve had the opportunity to work hands-on with a wide variety of animals from exotics to farm life, and Iā€™m so excited to bring that experience into this new role.

Happiest of birthdays to one of our super amazing volunteers, Kerri Ali!!! We would like to dedicate this double rainbow to you! This is a perfect display to honor you and the wonderful mother that you are to your daughter Iris! You have been volunteering here every other Sunday for over two years. When you started volunteering you said that it was important for you to teach your daughter how to give back to her community while also caring for animals. That is one of the greatest gifts that a parent can teach their child. We all adore you and appreciate you!

Stormy Update!

On Monday Stormy had to have her ear amputated. When she first came to us, she had a large tear in her ear that had created quite a hole. We were told she had been attacked by a dog.

Unfortunately, Stormy kept reopening the wound, causing it to bleed and putting her at risk for further injury and infection. After discussing the best option for her with our veterinarian, the decision was made to remove the damaged portion of her ear.

The good news is that Stormy is doing well! She wonā€™t have to worry about snagging her ear, reopening the wound, or hurting it anymore. Weā€™re so glad sheā€™s on the road to healing and will be much more comfortable moving forward.

Little Miss Sally LOVES her lettuce! Just watch her chow down, itā€™s absolutely her favorite!

And if you happen to have some nearby and donā€™t shareā€¦ well, be prepared for those tiny little nibbles on your legs, followed by the sweetest, most adorable face looking up at you until your heart melts and you give in. šŸ„¹
