Sunrise Association

Sunrise Association The mission of the Sunrise Association is to bring back the joys of childhood to children with cancer

The mission of the Sunrise Association is to bring back the joys of childhood to children with cancer and their siblings worldwide. Sunrise accomplishes this through the creation and oversight of welcoming, inclusive summer day camps, year-round programs and in-hospital recreational programs, all offered free of charge. OUR VISION
We work towards a world where cancer will not be the defining fact

or in a child’s life; where children and families navigating the difficult world of pediatric cancer can find hope, love, and an extra ray of sunshine; where cultural diversity is embraced and every child is celebrated for who they are and for the unique gifts they bring into the world. OUR VALUES
Fun Is Mandatory
Sunrise is children just being children - having fun playing and laughing together. We want every child, even if they can attend for only a day, to have the best day ever! Inclusivity and Diversity
Sunrise is a world-wide organization made up of people from every walk of life who recognize and embrace the unique journey of each child. Sunrise actively seeks to create inclusive communities – whether at camp or in the hospitals – that celebrate diversity and equity among all children and staff while respecting both the differences and the commonalities that bind us together as a human family. Hope & Healing
While we may not be able to cure cancer, Sunrise can provide the healing of the heart as well as the hope that each child can experience the true meaning of childhood.

What an unforgettable night! 🏀✨

Thanks to the incredible generosity of the New York Knicks and the Garden of Dreams Foundation, Sunrise families had the opportunity to attend Game 3 of the NBA Finals at Madison Square Garden.

Experiences like these create moments of joy, connection, and lasting memories for children with cancer, their siblings, and their families. Thank you for making our families feel so special and for giving them the chance to be part of one of the biggest nights in sports.

We are so grateful for your partnership and generosity. 💙🧡

Last summer, our friend Jesse Solomon brought the cast of Bravo's Summer House out to Sunrise Day Camp – Long Island for a day of friendship bracelets, sports, and a whole lot of joy with our campers.

Jesse has become a true friend of Sunrise. His own cancer journey shaped his commitment to giving back, and watching him share that spirit with our kids was something we won't forget.

Tune in tonight, Tuesday May 5th at 8 PM on Bravo, to see Sunrise on Summer House. Check out the sneak peek here:

At Sunrise Day Camps, children with cancer and their siblings can feel something they rarely do elsewhere — completely normal and fully included.

As Deddy Paz, lead researcher from Tel Aviv University’s School of Public Health, shares on the Sunrise Magic Makers Podcast:
“The focus is not on the illness. The focus is on being kids — surrounded by counselors who make sure they’re safe and having fun.”

Deddy led the landmark study confirming that this environment of joy and inclusion measurably improves children’s resilience and emotional well-being.
