Building Homes For Heroes

A mother. A veteran. A woman who served her country, and who continues to serve others every single day.

This week, it was our turn to serve her.

Welcome home, Cassandra. ❤️🇺🇸 And a heartfelt thank you to KB Home for helping make this beautiful moment possible.

There’s still time to turn an everyday shopping trip into something meaningful. 🇺🇸❤️

All month long, every $2.50 reusable Stop & Shop Community Bag purchased at the Oceanside location at 3577 Long Beach Road sends $1 directly to Building Homes for Heroes.

If you’re shopping nearby, don’t forget to grab a bag and help us continue building better and brighter lives for our nation’s injured veterans, first responders, and their families.

A small purchase can make a meaningful difference. 🏡

Yesterday, more than 30 incredible Lowe's Home Improvement volunteers showed up to make U.S. Navy Logistics Specialist Second Class Cassandra Johnson’s new home even more beautiful. ❤️🏡

There’s something especially meaningful about people giving their time in service to someone who has also dedicated so much of her life to serving others.

We are incredibly grateful to every volunteer who spent the day making this home extra special, and to Lowe’s for continuing to show up for our nation’s heroes in such a meaningful way.

Today, we had the incredible honor of handing the keys to U.S. Navy Logistics Specialist Second Class Cassandra Johnson and welcoming her family home to their beautiful, mortgage-free forever home in Phoenix, Arizona. 🇺🇸🏡

Cassandra devoted 17 years to serving our country, including 14 years on active duty and three years in the Navy Reserve. During demanding tours aboard aircraft carriers, she supported critical flight deck and logistics operations and sustained lasting service-connected injuries. Through it all, her commitment to serving others never stopped. Today, she continues that mission as a veteran advocate while raising her three children and helping fellow veterans feel supported and valued.

Thanks to our incredible partner, KB Home, Cassandra and her family now have a place to put down roots, create memories, and begin a new chapter filled with stability, healing, and hope.

To the entire KB Home team, thank you for standing beside Building Homes for Heroes and for helping us give back to the heroes who have given so much for our country.

Welcome home, Cassandra!
