Building Homes For Heroes www.buildinghomesforheroes.org Building Better and Brighter Lives.

Since 2006, Building Homes for Heroes has been at the forefront of making a significant difference in the lives of wounded American service members and their families. The organization gifts mortgage-free homes that meet the needs of the men and women who have selflessly served our country. These homes not only help to remove the family's financial burden, they help to restore the individual's freedom, and enable the veteran to lead a more independent and productive civilian life.

What a special moment at the ballpark. 🇺🇸⚾🏡

After throwing out the first pitch at the San Antonio Missions Baseball Club game, retired U.S. Army Staff Sergeant Gene Calantoc received a surprise he will never forget: the announcement that he and his family will be receiving a mortgage-free forever home through Built To Honor in partnership with Building Homes for Heroes.

A highly decorated combat veteran, Team Army athlete, and above-the-knee amputee, Gene has transformed adversity into purpose. Since medically retiring in 2021, he has embraced adaptive sports as a path to healing, strength, and continued service to others.

We are honored to welcome Gene into the Building Homes for Heroes family and help provide the stability and peace of mind he has so richly earned through his sacrifices.

Thank you to San Antonio Missions, Pulte Homes San Antonio, and Built to Honor for helping make this unforgettable surprise possible and for standing with our nation’s heroes.

For years, U.S. Army Sergeant Patricia Golden faced one challenge after another.

A hurricane destroyed the home she grew up in. Water damage, tree damage, squatters, and time left it uninhabitable. Then came major health battles, including cancer. Through it all, Patricia never gave up hope.

Last month, she walked through the front door of a beautiful new mortgage-free home built on the very same property where so many of her memories were made.

Stories like Patricia’s remind us what is possible when a community comes together to lift up a hero who has given so much in service to others.

To the Greater Orlando Builders Association, Representative Anna V. Eskamani, Lowe's Home Improvement, GE Appliances and its Good Things, For Life Foundation, for providing the beautiful appliances that now fill Patricia’s home, our dedicated trade partners, volunteers, donors, and every person who played a role in this project—thank you. Your generosity transformed heartbreak into hope and helped make Patricia’s dream of coming home a reality.

Patricia spent years in survival mode. Today, she has a safe place to call home, a fresh start, and the peace of knowing she can enjoy the years ahead surrounded by the community she loves.

This is what building better and brighter lives is all about. ❤️🏡🇺🇸

Patricia Golden’s Eatonville was damaged by Hurricane Ian back in 2022.

Some heroes never stop giving back. 🇺🇸❤️

U.S. Navy Hospital Corpsman 2nd Class Isaac Francois stopped by his local Lowe's Home Improvement and chose to round up at checkout to help support future veterans and first responders through Building Homes for Heroes.

For Isaac, Lowe’s is more than a place to shop. After a devastating fire impacted his family, Lowe’s played an important role in helping them rebuild and move forward. Today, Isaac is paying that kindness forward so that other heroes can experience the same hope and support.

We are grateful to Isaac for his generosity and proud to have him as part of our growing family. And we thank Lowe’s for continuing to invest in the lives of our nation’s heroes through the Round Up For Charity program.

Together, small acts of kindness can help create life-changing opportunities for those who have sacrificed so much.

From Humble Beginnings to Life-Changing Impact

Following the tragic events of Sept. 11, 2001, Building Homes for Heroes was born from a simple mission: serve those who served us. What started with just a handful of homes each year has grown into a grassroots movement that will reach 50 mortgage-free homes in 2026 alone. In this special message, as we approach the 25th anniversary of 9/11, our Founder and CEO, Andy Pujol, reflects on our roots, our journey, and the heroes who inspire us every day.

Big milestones are reached through small acts of generosity. 🇺🇸❤️

While visiting his local Lowe's Home Improvement in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, U.S. Army Specialist Christopher Lewis took a moment to share how easy it is to round up at checkout and help support injured veterans and first responders through Building Homes for Heroes.

As we work toward gifting our 500th mortgage-free home this year, every round up helps bring us one step closer to changing another hero’s life.

Thank you, Specialist Lewis, for your service and for helping spread the word. And thank you to Lowe’s for continuing to help us build better and brighter lives for the heroes we serve.

A home can change everything, and this incredible community helped make that possible for U.S. Army veteran Patricia Golden.

Thank you to the Greater Orlando Builders Association and everyone who played a part in bringing this project to life. Your generosity, hard work, and commitment to serving our nation’s heroes have created a lasting impact that Patricia and her family will carry with them for years to come.

We are proud to stand alongside partners who continue to turn compassion into action.

When two heroes compete, everyone wins. 🇺🇸😄

These two veterans turned a trip to Lowe's Home Improvement in Stafford, VA, into a friendly competition to see who could round up first at checkout in support of future veterans and first responders. While there may have been only one winner of the challenge, the real winners are the heroes whose lives will be impacted by their generosity.

We love seeing our veterans continue to support one another and pay it forward with the same spirit of service they have always carried.

Thank you to these incredible heroes for making us smile and for helping support our mission. And a huge thank you to Lowe’s for making it easy for customers across the country to help us build better and brighter lives for our nation’s heroes. 💙

Today, we pause to remember the heroes of D-Day.

On June 6, 1944, thousands of young men stepped into uncertainty on the shores of Normandy. They faced unimaginable danger, not for recognition or reward, but for something greater than themselves: the defense of freedom and the hope of a better future for generations they would never meet.

Many made the ultimate sacrifice. Others carried the physical and emotional wounds of war for the rest of their lives. Their courage changed the course of history and helped secure the freedoms we enjoy today.

At Building Homes for Heroes, we are reminded every day that the legacy of service does not end when the battle is over. It lives on in the veterans who continue to inspire us with their resilience, strength, and commitment to others.

As we honor the heroes of D-Day, we also honor all who have worn our nation’s uniform and the families who stood beside them through sacrifice and hardship. May we never forget the extraordinary courage displayed on those beaches 82 years ago, and may we always strive to be worthy of the freedom they fought to preserve.

We remember. We honor. We are forever grateful.
