This month, we are proud to honor Meryl as our Volunteer in the Spotlight! ✨

Since being sworn in as a CASA Advocate in Spring 2024, Meryl has tirelessly advocated for two children navigating incredibly complex circumstances, including parental incarceration, domestic violence, substance abuse, and severe mental illness. Through it all, her compassion, consistency, and unwavering dedication have provided comfort, stability, and much-needed support to both the children and their families.

And Meryl has accomplished an amazing goal—she has NEVER missed a single visit in two years! What an incredible testament to her commitment and reliability. We are truly fortunate to have Meryl as part of our CASA community, and we are deeply grateful for the difference she continues to make in the lives of the children we serve. ♥️✨

“I never heard of CASA until one day I was watching Dr. Phil, and he encouraged me to get involved and volunteer, so I did. This has been a wonderful and meaningful experience for me. As a CASA volunteer, I can be a trusted presence in a child’s life in the foster care system. I have grown personally and professionally, as my background is in working with the geriatric population as a nurse. Being able to oversee these cases and provide the children and their families with the support they need is very rewarding. I appreciate the CASA supervisor’s guidance, and I have made special friendships with other CASA volunteers.” -Meryl
