This photo from the summer of 1949 features posters for the film “The Life of Riley” which was being shown at the community house’s movie first-run theater at the time.

Most of the structures in the photo are still standing. The community house is visible on the left. The current post office building has replaced the second one from left. The two-story building at center was extended to the left to adjoin the one-story white building and now houses Flair House. Houser’s Hotel, with a sign painted on the roof is visible just to the left of the flag pole. The building just barely visible to the right of the pole has been replaced by the three-story building on the corner of Ocean Breeze and Bay Walk. The current Blue Waters building is to the right of this. Its facade has since been updated. The twin buildings housing CJ’s and Sand Bar to the right of this still stand looking nearly identical. The buildings on the next block have been demolished and replaced with modern commercial structures. Finally, the Kline’s building is visible on the right of the photo looking the same as it does today. Photo from the wall at !☀️
