I thought might be interested in this interview with Russell Moore who is the editor-in-chief of Christianity Today. He is addressing a highly relevant issue facing America's evangelical community!

In his new book he explores democracy, cynicism, and the state of the evangelical church. Moore joins Michel Martin to discuss the challenges of religious identity and his hopes for future expressions of Christianity in America and beyond.

Local, state and federal officials like to pat themselves on the back for all they have done to ease the affordable housing crisis.

Do not be misled or fooled by press releases, ribbon cutting ceremonies, or goldn shovel photo opportunities and media evens.

If your tax dollars are not being used to create permanent affordable housing with afordability period in perpetuity, you, as the taxpayer are being misled.

If your local, state, or federal elected and government officials are not demanding affordability periods in perpetuity for any affordable housing project that receives local, state, or federal tax dollars and/or incentives, then the housing they are wasting your tax dollars is only a band-aid and temporary approach and simply "KICKS THE CAN (the problem) DOWN THE ROAD" to burden future taxpayers.

As a taxpayer, you should DEMAND that all affordable housing built with TAXPAYER dollars should be 100% affordable and the affordability period be in perpetuity. It is possible and it is being done. Vermont is the only state in the nation that only provides taxpayer funding for affordable housing for projects that have affordability periods in perpetuity.

Welcome Home U.S. Air Force MSgt. James Calfee. This week, the Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency announced that U.S. Air Force Master Sgt. James H. Calfee, 26, who was killed during the Vietnam War, was accounted for Aug. 8, 2025. In 1968, Calfee and 18 other men were assigned to Lima Site 85, a tactical air navigation radar site on a remote, 5,600-foot mountain peak known as Phou Pha Thi in Houaphan Province, Laos. In the early morning of March 11, the site was overrun by Vietnamese commandos, causing the Americans to seek safety on a narrow ledge of the steep mountain. A few hours later, under the protective cover of A-1 Skyraider aircraft, U.S. helicopters were able to rescue eight of the men. Calfee and 10 other Americans were killed in action and unable to be recovered. The complete accounting of Calfee's case will be published once the family receives their full briefing.

Army Tech 5 James Okubo earned the Medal of Honor for extraordinary heroism in France during World War II. He served as a medic with the famed 442nd “Go For Broke” Regimental Combat Team, made up primarily of Japanese American Nisei Soldiers.

On October 28–29, 1944, Okubo repeatedly exposed himself to heavy enemy fire, crawling 150 yards to save two wounded Soldiers. Just days later, on November 4, he ran 75 yards to a burning tank and pulled a man to safety. His courage saved lives under the most dangerous conditions.

At the time, Okubo was awarded only the Silver Star. In 2000, his valor was finally recognized when he and 21 other Asian American Soldiers had their awards upgraded to the Medal of Honor. Only seven of them lived to see the honor bestowed.

James Okubo passed away in 1967. Today, his story lives on as part of our nation’s history of service and sacrifice.
