Friends of the Oak Ridge Public Library The Friends of the Oak Ridge Public Library (FOL) is dedicated to providing support to the Oak Ridge Public Library.

The FOL was organized in 1959 to increase the opportunities for the association of persons interested in books and libraries; to increase the facilities and services of the Oak Ridge Public Library; and to enrich the cultural opportunities available to the citizens of the Oak Ridge area. We do this by selling books and other items several times a year at very low prices. We also have a Booknook in the Library with materials available for sale all the time. Also by organizing and funding the children's and adult summer programming, and by buying needed items for the Library that all outside the annual budget, such as the first two computers that appeared in the Main Library, and the Library security system gate. Next Week is ! It is a perfect time to support our Library and become a Friend of the Library. Some of our favorite Library programs wouldn't be possible without Friends of the Oak Ridge Public Library's additional funding.

So if you love the Oak Ridge Public Library, then stop by next week and become a Friend!

Come to the program next week! While you are at the library, stop by the FOL table in the lobby to find out how you can be a Friend of the Library! Programs like this one are made possible by FOL funding.
Next week is National Friends of the Libraries Week and we are having a membership drive!

Join us next week in the Library Auditorium for The Creepy World of Insect Parasitism!

Did you know the library has a Silhouette Cameo that you can use?

You can make a SLAM Space appointment to get trained to use the machine and then the projects are endless (just bring your own supplies).

We are using the Silhouette to make leaves for our upcoming Book Page Pumpkin Craft Night! RSVP to come craft with FOL and raise money for the library.

We are celebrating National Friends of the Libraries Week again this year! During the week of Oct 18th - 24th we will be having a membership drive. We would love to gather some new (and "renewed") Friends to help support our Library and it's fantastic programs. We will even have a little craft for the kiddos during Storytime, so stop by!

Also, our lovely volunteers will be hosting a Craft Night on Oct 21st. Come learn how to make a Book Page Pumpkin using book pages and materials crafted in the Library's SLAM Space. In lieu of a fee, we will be accepting donations. Please RSVP to the event:

In the mean time, check out our display case at the Library to learn more about how FOL supports our Library.

Head's Up! The Library has a new donation area. You can now pull your vehicle up to the building and place your donations of books, movies, and puzzles into the new donation drop box.

All donations dropped off at the library are reviewed by library staff for possible additions to their catalog. Everything else is given to us at the Friends of the Library. Our volunteers sort the donations for sale in our Book Nook, puzzle sales, and at Book Sales (like the one coming up next week!)

We appreciate your donations because they help raise money to support the Library and its programming. However, please make sure donations are clean and in decent condition before dropping them off. If you have a donation of more than 3 bags, please email us at [email protected] to make arrangements. Thank you!
