OFFICIAL STATEMENT FROM JEFFERSON TOWNSHIP PBA LOCAL 190

It has recently come to our attention that a social media post was circulating that depicted retired Jefferson Township police officers endorsing a specific candidate in the upcoming local mayoral election. This post featured the PBA Shield, along with our unionā€™s name and number.

We want to make it absolutely clear: This post was in no way, shape, or form endorsed or authorized by Jefferson Township PBA Local 190. The post has since been taken down.

As public servants and custodians of this great community, we take immense pride in serving the residents of Jefferson Township day in and day out. Because of this sacred trust, our membershipā€”which is comprised of all active Jefferson Township police officersā€”remains strictly neutral in ALL elections. Preserving this neutrality ensures that our commitment to serving every single resident equally is never compromised.

While we strongly support and encourage every citizen to exercise their Constitutional right to vote for the candidates of their choice, PBA Local 190 does not make any political endorsements.

We would like to thank the individual(s) who initially shared the post for their prompt cooperation in immediately removing it once our unionā€™s position was clarified.

šŸ„©šŸ» Join us for the Jefferson PBA Local 190 Revival Beefsteak on Friday, April 17th, at Our Lady Star of the Sea Church. Doors open at 6 PM.

Feast on all-you-can-eat filet mignon, plus bread, salad, pasta, fries, beer, wine, soda, and dessert! All for just $65 per person. Itā€™s a night of great food, good company, prizes, and a fantastic cause.

Today we remember a true hero who saved countless lives, Detective Joseph Seals.

On December 10th, 2019, he encountered two subjects in a van which was suspected to be involved in a homicide. Following this encounter the suspects shot and killed Det. Seals and fled the scene in the stolen van. The suspects then barricaded themselves in a local grocery store where they murdered three people inside and engaged in a shootout for several hours with responding officers.

The two suspects were eventually shot and killed.

Inside the van police discovered a live pipe bomb.

The actions taken by this officer saved countless lives that day.

He is survived by his Wife and five children.

He will never be forgottenā€¦
