As the nation’s oldest major war veterans’ organization, the VFW has an impeccable and longstanding record of service and stewardship. VFW Post 805’s history goes back to 25 July 1921. Our Post is one of the most active and successful posts in the state, with multiple awards for All State Post, and All American Post which recognize our outstanding efforts. We also were awarded the national Outstanding Community Service Award in 2018 and again in 2021. This award is only given to less than 1% of the posts in the country. VFW Post 805 and its Auxiliary continue to grow and Post 805 is the largest VFW Post in Illinois VFW District 14, which encompasses all of southwest Illinois and the St Louis metro-east region. It is also the 5th largest VFW Post in all of Illinois. If you are a veteran and meet the required qualifications, we need you on our great team!
