Congratulations to all Norton United teams who qualified for playoffs and to those who have already played and won their first round games.
Grade 8 Girls, Grade 8 Boys, Grade 6 Boys, Grade 5 Boys, and our Grade 4 Boys, who are playing in a Grade 5 division, all qualified for South Coast Soccer League playoffs.
Our Grade 8 Girls will play for the SCSL Championship on June 20th in Fairhaven.
Our Grade 8 Boys won their Quarterfinal match last night with a 4-0 victory over Mariner. They got out to a big, early lead with scoring from 4 different players, before transitioning into a more defensive minded 2nd half. They kept the intensity up until the end and earned a Semi-Final match at Mashpee, sometime next week.
Our Grade 6 Boys play their Off-Cape Division Semi-Final match tomorrow at 11:00 AM at Norton Middle School. They had a very strong season, finishing second in their Division. Please head out to support them as they play for a chance to move on.
Our Grade 5 Boys played their Quarter-Final match last night at Yarmouth-Dennis. The hosts were a highly talented and dangerous team, but our boys worked hard to keep them off the score sheet, while also creating multiple dangerous opportunities. The game was destined for overtime when in the 60th minute, with seconds remaining in the match, Norton earned a PK and capitalized on it. It was an amazing way to cap off a stellar performance by each and every player. They will play Sandwich, away, in their Semi-Final match tomorrow at 1:00 PM
Playing in a Grade 5 Division, our Grade 4 Boys are hoping to keep their momentum going into the playoffs. They earned a home Semi-Final match by finishing first in their Division. They play at 6:30 on Monday, June 15th against Monomoy. Please support them as well, as they look to earn a bid to the Final with a win.
Congrats to all our teams for a great season and especially to those teams in the playoffs as they look to win the South Coast Championship and qualify for MTOC (Massachusetts Tournament of Champions).
