On August 29, 2026, Michigan Falun Gong practitioners participated in a large parade in Chicago’s Chinatown, alongside practitioners from 10 other states across the central United States. The parade showcased the beauty of ’s principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance, while calling on the public to learn about and help stop the Chinese Communist Party’s ongoing persecution of .

We are deeply grateful to Rep. Jack Bergman for his thoughtful letter recognizing the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners and reaffirming his commitment to defending human rights and religious freedom.

His message reminds us that freedom of belief is a universal right and that we must continue to stand against persecution and injustice wherever it occurs.

🚨 Michigan residents: Your voice is needed today.

A bipartisan bill, S.4009 – the Falun Gong & Victims of Forced Organ Harvesting Protection Act, has been introduced in the U.S. Senate to combat the horrific practice of forced organ harvesting in China and hold perpetrators accountable through sanctions and reporting requirements.

The House version of this legislation passed unanimously in 2025. Now, we need Michigan's senators to help move it forward in the Senate.

As the local presenter of Shen Yun, we are deeply honored to receive a proclamation from Detroit Mayor Mary Sheffield recognizing Shen Yun and welcoming the company back to Detroit.

The proclamation reads: “I hereby welcome Shen Yun Performing Arts back to Detroit and encourage all citizens to attend the performances at the Detroit Opera House between April 24 and 26, 2026. I would also like to thank all the organizers, artists, and cultural partners who have contributed to making Detroit a vibrant hub for the performing arts.”

We are grateful for this recognition and for the continued support of the arts in Detroit.

At the Detroit Opera House this weekend, we were honored to welcome Detroit City Council Member Angela Whitfield-Calloway, who joined us after the performance to present the Spirit of Detroit Award in recognition of Shen Yun’s 19th year in Michigan.
