Over Winter Break from December 29 to January 11, three students traveled to Rwanda with Director Steve Rand and Coordinator Jessica Lanier through the Center for Civic Engagement. Students learned about the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi and reflected on forgiveness, healing, and navigating political tension, and how those lessons can be brought back to Norwich, Vermont, and beyond.

Shoutout to our work study student Jennifer for creating this reel and capturing the experience 🎥👏

✨ Honoring Dr. King through Service ✨

This past MLK Day, the Center for Civic Engagement celebrated Dr. King’s legacy at WestView Meadows, a local senior living community. 💛 Students and faculty baked cookies, led an exercise class, helped with technology, and joined a discussion led by Professor Jagemann and Professor Sodergan.

Thank you to everyone who made the day special. We hope even more students, staff, and faculty join us next year to serve and celebrate together! 🙌
