For those who don't know the owner of IHRA and Rockingham is Darryl Cuttell.

The lawsuit also alleges Cuttell used proceeds from the contracts to support drag racing-related ventures, including work associated with Darana Motorsports

Wilkes County Commisioners have voted 4 to 1 to move forward with funding for water and sewer expansion as part of the NCDOT 115 widening.

This will provide additional upgraded capacity and services in the area around the speedway.

I just wanted to take a moment to publicly thank the county commissioners who voted to move forward with the utility betterments on HWY 115, as well as all of the people in our community who took the time out of their day to attend last night's county board meeting and show their support.

Casey Joe Johnson, Evan Handy, Shirley Randleman, and Bill Sexton stood with those who support growth and economic progress in Wilkes, and it turned out to be a good day for the county.

I believe it was an important moment for our community, where people came together to protect something good for our future and stood against those who may be well-intentioned, yet misguided about what is best for Wilkes.

While our community may have lost a lot of wealth and affluence over the past 30-plus years, I believe that, with strong leadership, perseverance, and the grace of God, we have the opportunity to build a stronger future where Wilkes can be a cultural and economic hub for western North Carolina and where everyone who lives here can enjoy a better quality of life.

Says no to a project to continue upgrading infrastructure around something generating millions of dollars of economic development.

Not to mention the tens of thousands Wilkes County Schools have received.

UPDATE: Thanks to everyone's awareness, the scrim panels have been located and are in the process of being returned to the track.

"The awareness effort was a success. This led to a tip and we have been notified that a person had several sections of the barn wood logo panel.

The person is four states away and we have been in contact about arranging return." Track Statement

Over the last few days since Sunday night several large sections of the fence banners have been intentionally cut out around the track. These are not the small banners hung around the track, and doesn't care if people take.

First off, lets not be that person intentionally defacing the track and vandalizing the track. This isn't an abandoned track anymore, so many people worked too hard to get it back, lets not do this.

Secondly, all the track is asking for is to get the cut out sections back, no questions asked, just drop them off at the ticket office, someone will get them.
