The CFBC was the first boxing club to be fully sanctioned by the United States Amateur Boxing national organization in Wilkes and the surrounding area. After several years of providing the youth and boxing lovers a place to enjoy this great sport, the club closed with much regret by its founder Larry “Lethal” Nichols. With no one to carry the banner of amateur b
oxing to its fullest, the club’s founder has decided to pick up this banner and re-established the Carolina Foothills Boxing Club. The club—under the vast experience of the boxing world in teaching the art of boxing and providing the public a place to be entertained by local boxing events—will become the leading provider of boxing in this area once again. The CFBC will also be a member of North Carolina USA Boxing, Inc. which is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation operating under United States Amateur Boxing, Inc., located at l Olympic Plaza, Colorado Springs, Co 80909. The purpose of CFBC is to expand the choices of recreation programs for the youth of the foothills area. Among the youth in our community are individuals of all ages that love the great sport of boxing. Many people have informed us that they regret not having the opportunity to get involved in amateur boxing at a younger age. In providing this program and opportunity to expand, our youth of today can continue our legacy into tomorrow… a community working together for a common goal. The CFBC is not only for young men. We encourage anyone male or female, that wishes to pursue their love of boxing, to come by and check out our program for themselves. As members of this great community, we all share a common goal; to see the free time of our youth spent utilizing programs that will positively impact their emotional growth and social development. The youth will increase their self-confidence as well as improve their physical development. We have a responsibility to provide programs and facilities to do just that. By working together, we can provide this much needed program for the youth of the foothills of North Carolina. The Carolina Foothills Boxing Club is looking for competitors, coaches and sponsors. In order to participate, boxers must be at least 7 years of age and anybody, male or female can take part. There will be various ages and weight classes and experience ranging from 7 to 17 youth and for adults 18 and over. For more information on competing, coaching or becoming a sponsor, contact “Lethal” Larry Nichols at (336) 466-2417 or at [email protected]. Always remember that as citizens of our great country, the United States of America, we have a duty to provide a way for our youth to continue a better way of life and to always be able to take their dreams and conceive, believe, and achieve. Our motto of the Carolina Foothills Boxing Club is “DISCOVER THE CHAMPION IN YOU!”
We thank you for your support and ask that you consider becoming involved with our program at CAROLINA FOOTHILLS BOXING CLUB!
