If you don't know about conversion therapy and want to learn, I invite you to my virtual webinar Snake in the Grass: How to Spot Conversion Therapy. In this 1.5 hour webinar, you will learn about conversion therapy and gender affirming care. It is a pay-what-you-can fee.

This training will walk through the harms that can be caused by conversion therapy. Instructor will contrast conversion therapy with the evidence-based standard of gender affirming care. Instructor will highlight the differences between conversion therapy and gender affirming care. Participants will learn about the tenets of conversion therapy and gender affirming care, along with the research about both practices. This training is open to anyone who wants to know about conversion therapy and gender affirming care.

Many folx have reached out looking for community and support. We want to offer that opportunity for the community. The goal for this gathering is to connect the LGBTQIA+ community in Wilkes county. Bring food and drinks for yourself to enjoy while we chat, laugh, and build community.

Hey y'all!
We've gotten some new followers so I want to let people know who we are.

Wilkes True Colors was started in 2022 by Brandon Anderson and Angela Brooks-Livingston. Brandon is a Wilkes County native who serves as a minister to the community. Angela has lived in Wilkes for 14 years and serves the community as a therapist and minister.

In 2022, we offered the first Pride festival in Wilkes County. Since 2022, we have offered a variety of events for the community. Many folx have reached out to get involved and we would love for Wilkes True Colors to be more active. If you're interested, send us a message and let's see what happens.

Our next hangOUT is one week from today! We are thrilled to welcome any and all Q***r Youth ages 12 - 18 in the High Country for an afternoon of — whatever you want! There will be plenty of free food, drinks, games, sidewalk chalk, etc. but the afternoon activities are set by Q***r Youth for Q***r Youth.

We want you to know that this is a safe space to just BE YOU! No expectations, no agenda, just YOU!

This will be a fully chaperoned event at 3rd Place Saturday July 25th 1pm - 4pm. Free parking is available at the AppState Peacock Lot at the end of Appalachian Street — however you must enter the lot from Rivers Street.
