Byrd Ridge Crisis Center History Summary:
The Crisis Center began before 2002 as a Peace Haven Baptist outreach by the Baptist Young Women
In December 2002 we were set up as Peace Haven Food Pantry utilizing the church’s Fed ID # and a letter from the Stone Mountain Baptist Association reflecting that Peace Haven is a member of the Association and under the umbrella of the Association which is a m
ember of the North Carolina Baptist State Convention as being members are covered under the non-profit and tax exempt 501©(3) organization status. The name Byrd Ridge Crisis Center was developed in that not just Peace Haven church members were / are a part of this outreach, but also many members of various churches in the Stone Mountain Association and other church associations. We are not government funded or associated with a government organization. The food our clients receive is from financial and food donations from organizations, churches, and individuals of Wilkes County! The Lord has placed it in our hearts to assist families with no questions asked and no government entities controlling who we can serve! We now serve nearly 40-45 families per month with food assistance. It takes an estimated $24,000 per year in financial and food donations to continue assisting families of Wilkes County. Currently, the Crisis Center is considered a ministry of Peace Haven Baptist Church and is overseen by the Local
Outreach Team; who acts as a steering committee. All our staff are volunteers, and it will always be that way. Want to help financially support the Byrd Ridge Crisis Center? https://www.zeffy.com/en-US/donation-form/4b8d0da0-b691-4cc1-94af-ac476cb6861d
