Arizona, California and Nevada announced a plan this month to save up to 1 million acre-feet (44 billion cubic feet) of Colorado River water through 2028. That's on top of cuts already announced by the three states and Mexico, bringing the total proposed savings to 3.2 million acre-feet, or about enough water to serve more than 25 million people a year.

Biologists with the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources have confirmed the presence of Alabama bass hybrids in Lake Linville. This crisis was predictable. For more than two decades, scientists have warned of the risks to humans and animals posed by the kinds of chemicals spreading out of the mills.

Milwaukee Harbor takeover… waterway edition.

Recently, Aquarius Systems tested a new Trash Hunter in the Port of Milwaukee alongside the Lynyrd Skymmr, Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District - MMSD's Trash Hunter that helps remove floating trash and debris from the Menomonee, Kinnickinnic, and Milwaukee Rivers along with Milwaukee’s inner harbor.

Joining the action was another Trash Hunter built for the Passaic Valley Sewerage Commission, where it will soon help remove floating debris from the Passaic River, its tributaries, and Newark Bay.

No tires were harmed in the making of this video… only floating trash.

A big thank you to everyone who attended our Aquatic W**d Harvester Safety & Maintenance Seminar!

We had 48 attendees from 19 different lake districts join us for a day of learning, networking, and sharing experiences.

Some fun facts from the seminar:
11 attendees had 0 years of harvester experience
8 attendees had 10+ years of experience
234 years of combined experience represented in the room

One of the best parts of the day was seeing experienced operators share tips and knowledge with those new to aquatic w**d harvesting. Thank you again to everyone who attended and helped make the seminar a success!

In a tragic incident, a female elephant, approximately 40 years old, has died after consuming polluted water from the Arkavathy River. A grieving calf standing by its mother’s carcass and crying. The water in the river is so contaminated with f***l coliform and industrial waste that it is fit only for industrial cooling or waste disposal. Research reports have detected cancer-causing heavy metals, mercury, and DDT—a banned pesticide—in the river.

While Karnataka remains one of the leaders in conservation, boasting a population of 6,013 wild elephants displaced into private lands, the government remains largely paralyzed against the "silent killers" of rampant urbanization and human encroachment.
