North Prairie Lions Club

North Prairie Lions Club A service organization dedicated to helping our local community with donations to local organizations, charities, and families in need. Lions are everywhere.

Being a Lion is a wonderful opportunity to do more for your community and make an impact on the lives of others. Lions Clubs International is the largest service club organization in the
world. We have more than 1.4 million members in more than 46,000 clubs worldwide. We're men and women active in more than 200 countries and
geographic areas. Lions serve. Our motto is “We Serve.” Founded in 1917,

we are best known for fighting blindness,
but we also feed the hungry, aid seniors and the disabled, and care for the environment. Lions are a
global service network of volunteers that make a difference in their local communities. Lions give sight. By conducting vision screenings, equipping hospitals and clinics, distributing
medicine and raising awareness of eye disease, Lions work toward the goal of providing vision for all. Through the support of the Lions Clubs International Foundation (LCIF), Lions have helped provide
more than 153 million treatments for river blindness and 72 million doses of a sight-saving trachoma
medication through the SightFirst program alongside our partners. Lions and LCIF have also helped
provide vision screenings for more than 19 million children through the Sight for Kids partnership
program. Lions serve youth. Our community projects often support children and local schools through
scholarships, recreation and mentoring. Internationally, we offer many programs to empower youth,
including the Peace Poster Contest; youth camps and exchanges; and Lions Quest, an LCIF positive
youth development program. Our Leo clubs help young people develop leadership skills while impacting their communities through
service. There are approximately 166,000 Leos and 6,600 Leo clubs in more than 145 countries and
geographic areas worldwide. Lions receive grants and the world receives benefits. Since 1968, Lions Clubs
International Foundation has awarded more than $900 million in grants to support Lions’ humanitarian
projects. As the official charitable organization of Lions Clubs International, LCIF helps Lions improve
the lives of millions of people through four pillars of service: saving sight, supporting youth, providing
disaster relief and meeting humanitarian needs. Through the Foundation’s generous support of largescale
humanitarian initiatives, Lions are able to extend their reach from local communities to the global
community in order to serve those who need us most.

Good evening everyone. We hope you are having a wonderful start to 2026!

At our January meeting, we as members of the North Prairie Lions Club were discussing community involvement and outreach.

Our normal meetings revolve around club business; discussing what work needs to be done to successfully host our annual pancake breakfasts, plan for baseball league food sales, or prepare for Harvest Fest and the items we manage.

Additionally, and most importantly, our club business includes discussing and voting on how we can best utilize the funding we raise to help within our community whether it be public or personal causes.

Naturally we cannot support every cause that crosses our feed and can’t always support to the level that we would like.

We can, however, bring these items to the attention of the club and beyond.

There are, at the time of this posting, over 500 Facebook followers for the North Prairie Lions Club page. This is by no means a huge following yet but it is diverse.

So… what we would like to try, as a bit of community service, is provide an opportunity to share our platform and outreach to allow members of our community to share causes that are important to them.

What we are hoping to do, is review the causes that are brought to our attention, and try to share them to our community. When it comes to these causes, we will not be posting whether or not we voted to support them directly, but instead just sharing to let you all decide if that cause is something you wish to support personally.

Our only goal, is to try using our platform to provide awareness of causes in or around our community that are asking for support.

If you have an interest in an event or cause that you would like us to share to our page, please let us know via direct message and we will do our best to quickly review and share.

Please understand that we ,too, are a diverse group and will do our best to avoid things such as political or religious bias in sharing these causes.

We are thinking of the title: Community Causes.

The North Prairie Lions Club has spent the majority of the last month sending out thanks to all our amazing donors for their contributions to our annual pancake breakfast and raffle, and we sincerely meant every word!

But now it’s your turn. To all of our followers and friends who joined us yesterday and made sure to enjoy breakfast, buy raffle tickets, and contribute to our event, THANK YOU!

With that in mind, if anyone has any feedback on how we can improve to make it an even better event in the future, please let us know!

We appreciate all of you!
Sincerely,
The North Prairie Lions Club
