It felt more like March than May, but our cleanup crew got the job done this morning! Together, we collected and removed more than 20 pounds of trash from Pirates Cove Beach. Big shoutout to Jetty for sponsoring our cleanup this month.

We never forget where we came from. Back in 2017, a member and friend Nancy suggested we adopt Pirates Cove Beach from Blue Ocean Society for Marine Conservation so SPC could host monthly beach cleanups. In short, we did. Since then, our club members and friends have gathered on the last Sunday of every month to walk the beach, collect trash and connect with one another.

This simple act has fostered friendships, nurtured our community, and helped us leave a place just a little bit better than we found it.

Over the years, different members of have stepped up to lead our cleanup efforts, and we are grateful for each and every person who carried the torch.

On behalf of the entire SPC family, past and present, we'd like to congratulate Blue Ocean Society on their 25th Anniversary!!!! Your efforts are appreciated by all who paddle! And thank you Nancy. If you read this know that your idea continues to connect people and make a difference.
