They are involved in many aspects of rescue, including years of being a licensed volunteer State Humane Investigator (now retired). They work with many rescue partners and look forward to many more years helping dogs in need. Paws First Rescue is fully foster based with no physical shelter or office. All dogs live in volunteer foster homes. Dogs can stay in foster care as little as a week or as long as a year or more. Each dog is spayed or neutered and given age appropriate vet care before being available for adoption. PFR often takes special needs dogs such as burns, eye issues, orthopaedic issues, deaf, and more. These dogs have medical costs far above their adoption fee, making fundraising necessary at times.
