Family Pathways

Family Pathways Serving our Communities through Aging Services, Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Services and Food Access Services

Family Pathways was established in 1978 as a 501(c)3 grassroots community organization in Chisago County, providing counseling services to youth and families. Today Family Pathways is a leading human service organization providing a person-centered response to social determinants that affect the health and well-being of residents across east-central Minnesota and western Wisconsin. A deep-rooted h

istory in the community and direct service expertise in multiple program areas, including access to healthy food, domestic violence, sexual assault intervention, and supportive services for older adults- makes Family Pathways unique. Family Pathways’ mission is to work alongside people to enhance lives through a continuum of essential services and, together with the community, champion positive social change. Together with volunteers, donors, partners, and the community at large, neighbors can access stability and hope - contributing to the overall vitality of the region. Programming includes Food Equity and Access Services comprised of nine food shelves and a mobile food truck; Parenting Time Services assuring children have safe contact with family members as they navigate challenging times and transitions. Aging Services engage our aging population through companionship, advocacy, education, and caregiver support. At the same time, Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Services provide comprehensive assistance to victims of family violence and sexual assault. Each of these programs is supported, in part, through the Family Pathways social enterprise model, which consists of ten thrift stores and a recycling center.

🚧 Cambridge Food Shelf Entrance Update 🚧

Our normal back entrance to the Cambridge Food Shelf is currently blocked off with cones due to construction.

If you are visiting the Food Shelf or another service in the building, please park in the front of the building and follow the posted signage and chalk. Do not drive or walk through the cones.

We appreciate your patience and understanding while construction is underway! 💙

A huge thank-you to Dollar General for donating and stocking our hygiene and household shelves at the North Branch Food Shelf!

And they didn’t stop there—they also dropped off a few produce grocery baskets for our young shoppers! 🍎

We are so grateful for community partners who help make sure our neighbors have access to the everyday essentials they need. Thank you, Dollar General, for helping us fill shelves and spread a little extra kindness!

Together, we’re making a difference—one shelf (and one smile) at a time!

💻 Learning doesn’t always have to happen in person!

People of all ages are using technology for family meetings, connecting with kids and grandkids, and even attending medical appointments. We know that for some of the older adults and caregivers we serve, transportation can be a barrier—or they may not be able to leave their care receiver alone to attend a class.

That’s why we’re excited to try something new! 💙

Thanks to Lisa’s creativity and forward thinking, Family Pathways is offering virtual classes to make learning and connection more accessible for the people we serve.

Our first virtual class is “Understanding Care Options” on August 26 from 2–3 PM CST. We’ll explore the many options available for senior living and care, helping older adults and caregivers better understand their choices and plan ahead.

📅 August 26 | 2–3 PM CST
