The resident Photography Group at Edgewood shares a passion for creating beautiful images. Members love sharing ideas, exchanging techniques, and inspiring one another to become better photographers. The results speak for themselves. These are just a few examples of the quality of work this resident group creates including striking wildlife images, breathtaking landscapes, artistic compositions, and intimate portraits.

You can see their work on display at Edgewood. And if you’d like to improve your skills behind the camera, the Photography Group welcomes Edgewood residents of all skill levels. The only requirement, like all resident-led groups at Edgewood, is a passion for learning and a sense of fun.

Following a comprehensive, unannounced inspection by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health, The Meadows Health Center at Edgewood received top scores across the board with zero deficiencies. The inspection covered five performance areas including administration, nursing, residents’ rights, food service, and environment. In each category, The Meadows received the maximum possible score.

This also marks the fourth consecutive year that The Meadows has been recognized as deficiency-free by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health. We’re proud of our consistent track record, and we remain committed to providing the highest quality nursing care in a beautiful, nurturing environment. What happens behind the scenes of an Edgewood photo shoot? Plenty of laughter, great conversations, and authentic moments that perfectly capture life in our community.

Residents and staff joined in to make the shoot a great success. From holding a Pilates position for the camera and hiking to the top of Half Mile Hill to enjoying cocktails in the newly redecorated Resident Lounge and sharing a laugh on the patio overlooking The Great Lawn, direction was minimal. The goal was to capture candid scenes and let the photos tell the story.

Thank you to the wonderful residents who volunteered to participate on the day of the shoot. We can’t wait to share the finished images that show Edgewood life in all its beauty.

On a beautiful day filled with reflection, gratitude, and community, Edgewood residents and friends gathered to honor the lasting legacy of Suzanna — a beloved resident, friend, Master Gardener, longtime member of the Building & Grounds Committee, and passionate steward of Edgewood's beautiful grounds. The heartfelt ceremony, thoughtfully organized by residents and friends of Edgewood, celebrated a life that continues to bloom through the beauty she inspired and the friendships she nurtured.

To commemorate Suzanna's many contributions, a hybrid Japanese maple tree was dedicated in her memory, accompanied by a commemorative plaque that will serve as a lasting reminder of her love for gardening, nature, and the community she helped cultivate. Suzanna's legacy will continue to remind us that the seeds of kindness and service can continue to grow and bloom for generations to come.

Residents enjoyed a beautiful day exploring the scenic trails of Weir Hill, beginning with a guided hike from the George Edmonds Trail led by knowledgeable staff from The Trustees of Reservations. Participants learned about the rich history, natural features, and unique ecology of this protected property.

Many hikers continued to the summit of Half Mile Hill, taking in views of Lake Cochichewick and the surrounding landscape. Some even extended their adventure with a walk to the lake and back, while others returned to the trailhead to conclude their journey.

We’re grateful to the Trustees for sharing their knowledge. It was a wonderful experience that increases our appreciation for the natural beauty on our doorstep.
