Chronic loneliness is linked to higher rates of perinatal depression, anxiety, and postpartum mood disorders. Being a new parent can be lonely.

The shift in identity, loss of old social rhythms, and changed social support can leave you feeling like a stranger in your own life -- making it harder to ask for or accept help.

If you're a new or expecting parent and you're feeling this way -- you are not alone. 🧡

BNF is here to help. We provide free support so every family has the expert guidance and community they need to thrive:

• Free birth education and prenatal yoga classes to meet other expecting parents
• Free feeding and lactation support from certified professionals
• Free community weekly playgroups to enjoy your new routine
• Free peer support groups for reassurance and community
• Free 24/7 Support Line for middle of the night doubts and concerns

Everything FREE.
Can you help keep these systems accessible for all families in Berkshire county?

Urgent: BNF NEEDS CHEERLEADERS

Mother’s Day is a celebration — but for many new parents, it arrives in the middle of the hardest season of their lives.

Maybe you remember that season. The exhaustion that has no name. The love that overwhelms you and the doubt that follows right behind it. The moment you wondered if you were doing it right — or if it was going to be so hard forever.

For the families BNF serves across Berkshire County, that season is happening right now. Help us be there for them the way someone was there for you, or the way you wish someone was.

When you make a gift today, you can leave a message of encouragement for a new parent.

✍🏽 A sentence. A memory. Something you wish someone had said to you.

✉️ We’ll deliver it — at their next visit, tucked into a playgroup bag, or handed to them in a moment of need.

🧡 Because sometimes the most powerful thing one parent can offer another is simply: I’ve been there. You’re going to make it.

"After a decade of trying to conceive we finally had our miracle! We had heard 'Oh, breastfeeding is natural and magical!', but had no idea that c-section delayed my milk and the newborn has to learn how to latch!"

That's how Christiana begins her story. Surprises no one warned her about — delayed milk, a newborn learning to latch, days of frustration and guilt in the hospital and at home — "I felt bad I couldn’t feed my baby boy."

Then she found BNF.

Visit by visit, playgroup by playgroup, BNF was there.

"On Day 10, April helped him latch without a ni**le shield, and I remember such relief and joy! And when I was anxious about him being distracted and not eating enough, they helped me not feel bad about adding formula.

Everyone needs a great lactation consultant, feeding help, and support. My anxiety has been good and bad, and hormones are all over, so it’s nice having friends in the community [from BNF groups]."

Everyone deserves a BNF. 🧡

Feeding and postpartum journeys are full of surprises — and honestly, many of those surprises are hard. Really hard. That's exactly why BNF exists. From prenatal visits and childbirth education to at-home consultations and community-driven playgroups, BNF helps parents troubleshoot challenges so they can get back to what matters most: joy and connection with their babies.

"I wish all my friends around the world had BNF! Forever grateful for BNF." -Christiana

Thanks for sharing your story, Christiana!
